There’s no summer holiday from physical abuse - but there is help and support for those suffering.

If you live in Norfolk, and are experiencing domestic abuse, speak to NIDAS on 0300 561 0555, or visit NIDASnorfolk.co.uk.

Creative therapy isn't about being good at art. It's about finding another way to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences when words alone don't feel enough. There is no right or wrong way to create - just curiosity, choice and connection 🎨

Sometimes children don't have the words to explain what they're feeling. Through play, stories and creative experiences, children can explore emotions, relationships and experiences in a way that feels natural and safe. Play isn't 'just play' - it can be a child's language.

There's this unspoken expectation in parenting that you hold it together. That you stay calm, stay present, stay on top of it, regardless of what you're carrying underneath.

But holding it together all the time has a cost.

It accumulates quietly until the weight of it starts showing up in the moments you least want it to. The snapping, the shutting down, the crying in the car after school pickup. (That one's more common than you'd think.)

You don't have to have it all together to be a good parent. You just have to keep coming back. To your child, and to yourself.

If you need somewhere that doesn't require you to hold anything together, come and find us in the Connective Parenting Hub. đź’›

During the summer holidays, if you feel like your mental health has changed, or you don’t have access to the same support network as during term time, our mental health advisers are here to support you. If you’re not getting on with your family and it’s affecting your life, you can ask for MAP’s mediation service to help you and your family sort out difficulties and find a way forward. https://www.map.uk.net/here-you/mental-health

If you've just finished school, you may want someone to talk to about what to do next, whether that's further education, employment, or training. You can come to any of our MAP locations during our drop-in hours and speak to someone about anything that’s on your mind. https://www.map.uk.net/find-us

MAP hosts a big selection of free youth groups for young people all year-round, so you can find something that suits you. If you need something to do during the summer holidays, or just want to meet some other young people, you can check out our activities and groups page. https://www.map.uk.net/here-you/activities-groups
