🌿 Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Update 🌿

The Hub Is Back – Come and Connect!

The Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Community Hub is back from Monday 14th September, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another year of connection, wellbeing and community.

The Hub is a friendly, welcoming space where you can discover new activities, meet people, learn something new and find support to improve your health and wellbeing.

Our popular Monday drop-in runs from 10am–12pm, giving you the chance to pop in for a chat with one of our Social Prescribers, find out what’s happening locally or simply enjoy a cuppa and a friendly conversation. No appointment is needed.

Throughout the year, we’ll also be offering a fantastic mix of wellbeing, creative, physical and social sessions. From movement and mindfulness to arts, cooking, groups and opportunities to connect with others, there really is something for everyone.

The Hub is based at the Young People’s Centre, Bridgford Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 6AT.

Whether you want to try something completely new, meet people, improve your wellbeing or simply get out and do something positive for yourself, we hope you’ll find something that inspires you.

💉 Flu & Covid Clinic now open for booking! 💉

We are happy to announce that our Winter Flu & Covid clinic for Saturday 17th October 2026 is now open to book!

NHS guidance advises patients that getting the flu vaccination too early in the season i.e. September may reduce protection later in the winter season.

🏰 A Personal Message from Dr Jeremy Griffiths 🏰

Dear Patients,

I am writing to let you know that I will be retiring as a GP Partner at Castle Healthcare Practice on 4th October 2026.

This has not been an easy decision coming after 30 years as a GP Partner in West Bridgford and following 12 years of medical training.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have enjoyed such a fulfilling and rewarding career.

Medicine is fascinating and so are people, and it has been genuinely gratifying to care for our community over so many years.

I would like to sincerely thank you for the trust and confidence you have placed in me, whether seeking diagnosis or prevention advice, managing long-term conditions, or during times of acute illness.

It has been an honour to support you and your families, and I hope I have repaid that trust through the care I have provided.

They say that being a GP gives you the key to people's hearts & their doors. On a human level, that is very humbling.

One of the greatest privileges of general practice is the opportunity to get to know people from a variety of backgrounds throughout different stages of their lives.

It has been particularly special to see children I once cared for grow into adults and, in many cases, become parents themselves.

Indeed ongoing relationships with people over many years are among the most rewarding aspects of my career.

Being recognised as “my doctor” by patients has always been something I have valued deeply, and I will always be grateful for the confidence and kindness shown to me by so many patients.

As I prepare to retire, I do so knowing that Castle Healthcare Practice has a bright future.

I am proud to leave a practice that is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and has been recognised recently as Medical Student Training Practice of the Year.

These achievements reflect the dedication, professionalism, leadership and teamwork of our exceptional staff.

Our excellent GPs, nurses, management team and wider practice colleagues remain committed to providing the highest standard of care for all our patients.

Following a short break, I hope to undertake occasional GP sessions at Castle, contribute to work across the local healthcare system, and spend more time travelling and enjoying life with my family and friends.

As I will continue to live locally, I hope our paths may cross from time to time. If they do, please don’t hesitate to say hello.

Thank you once again for allowing me to be part of your healthcare journey. It has truly been a privilege.

Here in Rushcliffe, we're building a Let's Live Well community based around our Four Pillars of Health: Sleep, Movement, Nutrition and Connection. Our Summer Friendship Calendar has been designed to help people discover enjoyable activities that support these pillars while having fun and meeting others.
