Rushcliffe Social Prescribing

Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Service works with individuals to help to empower them to make a change

Social Prescribing enables GP practices to refer patients to a Link Worker, exploring solutions around non-medical issues that underpin their health conditions and subsequent presentation at surgeries. Rushcliffe PCN Social Prescribing Service offers the opportunity for patients to work with a Social Prescribing Link Worker. The service looks to enable patients to better manage their own health, e

mpowering those with social, emotional or practical needs to develop wellbeing solutions. Part of this will be working closely with community resources and making connections as these resources begin to emerge post lockdown. Where appropriate, there is also the offer of collaboratively producing a personalised, goals-based plan aimed at supporting and motivating individuals around behaviour change.

🌟 Feeling overwhelmed by managing a long-term health condition? You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Living with chronic pain, fatigue, or ongoing health journeys can make you feel like you are constantly fighting a system rather than getting the care you deserve. That’s why becoming your own "health advocate" is one of the most powerful tools you can learn.

Join us for our next Let's Live Well Lounge: Becoming Your Own Health Advocate online session.

✨ Organize your medical history and track your symptoms without losing your energy.
✨ Navigate local Rushcliffe support services and get the right help at the right time.

You can join from the comfort of your own sofa with a cup of tea. Turn your camera on or keep it off—whatever makes you feel most comfortable!

🌿 Beyond Healthcare: A New Wellbeing Movement in Rushcliffe 🌿

Across Rushcliffe, more people are beginning to rethink what it means to stay well.

Healthcare remains essential — but wellbeing is influenced by much more than appointments and treatment. Human connection, movement, purpose, creativity and feeling part of a supportive community all play an important role in helping people stay well.

That’s why the Rushcliffe Social Prescribing Community Hub continues to grow as a welcoming space that works alongside local GP practices and health services to offer practical, preventative support within everyday life.

📍 West Bridgford Young People’s Centre
📅 Mondays (term time only)
☕ Drop in — no referral or formal appointment needed

People join us to explore:
✨ Mindful movement & breath
🧘 Therapeutic yoga
🎨 Creative wellbeing activities
🌿 Outdoor wellbeing sessions
💬 Health education workshops
🤝 Community support and connection

Alongside wellbeing activities, residents can also access support around:
✔️ Employment and wellbeing
✔️ Adult Social Care
✔️ Attendance Allowance
✔️ Blue Badge guidance
✔️ Community services and local support

One attendee in her 40s originally came looking for employment support after struggling with stress and unhappiness at work. Through the Hub she later explored meditation, therapeutic yoga, creative activities and emotional wellbeing support.

Her reflection:

💬 “I wasn’t going to come, but I’m very pleased that I did now.”

As demand for prevention-focused and community-led support continues to grow, we remain committed to creating accessible opportunities that help people feel healthier, more connected and better supported within their local community.

🌻Allotment Diaries 27.05.2026 🌻
We had another lovely session at the allotment this week and were delighted to welcome two new allotmenteers!
It was a busy and productive afternoon. We watered the plot, prepared an area for cucumbers and courgettes, and even built a wigwam for our sweet peas to climb.
A huge thank you to one of our members who very kindly watered every day during the heatwave… it’s really made a difference 💚
If you’re thinking about getting involved, we’d love to see you — it’s a friendly group where you can do what you can.
A very talented member has taken these photos; a real reflection of our plot.

Just a reminder that we’re back at the hub on June 8th. We hope to see you all then 🥰👍🏽

Friday wellbeing time...

Even the most motivated people have days where they don't want to show up. The Olympic athlete is not always keen to get to the gym. The 'A' grade student isn't always rushing to complete their homework.

That's where discipline comes in... when you are trying to make a change, and "just don't feel like it today," tap into your self-discipline and just do it..... and remember, motivation is created by action!
