Unfortunately, due to Severn Trent Water carrying out urgent repairs, our Mapperley car park will be closed for the next five days. We do apologise about the inconvenience this will cause.

Can we also remind people that our car park is shared with Plains Physiotherapy. If you are not staff or a patient at either, please do not park in our car park so we can save spaces for people who need them.

Today we have published our latest measles data. Measles continues to circulate in many parts of the country, with the majority of cases in unvaccinated children aged 10 years and under.
Very sadly, we are also reporting two deaths from measles in children this year. These deaths are a heartbreaking reminder that measles can be very serious and sometimes fatal.
We urge all parents to ensure their children are up to date with their MMR or MMRV vaccines, giving them the best and safest protection against measles – which can spread very easily. Anyone who has missed out on their measles vaccines can catch-up through their GP practice whatever their age.

A new NHS-funded health station, which gives shoppers the chance to get a free, self-service health check in under five minutes is launched today at Boots UK Victoria Centre, Nottingham.

Health Innovation East Midlands has enabled the deployment of two SISU Health Stations in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, which are the first of their type to be available to the public in the East Midlands. A second machine is located at Stapleford Care Centre, Church Street, Stapleford.

NHS leaders hope that by providing better access to health services in accessible locations like high street pharmacies, they can help save lives by improving early detection rates for serious illnesses like heart disease, stroke and dementia.

The SISU Health Station measures blood pressure, BMI, heart rate, body composition and more - while also helping to identify alcohol-related and physical activity risks and calculates heart age.

People using the machine receive instant personalised feedback and may be referred on to NHS services for support.

The launch is taking place ahead of Stroke Association Stroke Prevention Day.

Dr Husein Mawji, Nottingham GP and Clinical Director of Nottingham City Place Based Partnership said: “This aligns strongly with our ambition to deliver integrated wellbeing support which joins up prevention, early detection, and personalised guidance in a way that works for our diverse population.
