Some Night! 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐟 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 👏🏽⛳️✅…

We are so buzzing after our first time having the lads smash (and shank a couple), of balls tonight…

4 booths fully used the whole time, and lots of laughs! More importantly lads were opening up in such a relaxed manner…

We are dead grateful for Ramsdale Park Golf Centre hosting us and meeting their staff. Please know you’re making a difference…

See you at the next one 25th November! 🫱🏼‍🫲🏻

⛳️🏌🏻𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐆𝐎𝐋𝐅 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐏! Tomorrow 18:30-19:30…

ETS have officially managed to get a 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 for lads that; may not like the pub, may not like football, or even a run…

Since founded in 2020 we try to find ways for blokes to show up to something where they can take the edge off it and open up. It can be daunting enough to show up to a men’s mental health group as it is…

Ramsdale Park Golf Centre have been truly brilliant alongside one of our own Jamie M, for coming up with the idea and communicating with this fantastic local golf club!…

Any Bloke Struggling? Needs a 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭? …

Sean’s Group is in honour and in memory of Sean Lynk that sadly passed by su***de in December 2022. This was a massive shock to the; family, friends, and community…

To continue his legacy, we provided a time and place at his favourite pub The Dog House at Kirkby for men to come and just be. We’re so grateful to them that this has been going on for well over 3 years now…

Sean’s Group is proper laid back, no pressure on men to chat, but it has and continues to absolutely ensure men can offload…

So if you’re struggling, come and join us tonight:

💛 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 💛

MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS. EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we want to remind every man out there that it’s okay not to be okay. 💛

Behind a smile, a joke, or the words “I’m fine” could be a man struggling in silence. A man carrying worries, anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, financial pressures, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life.

Too many men still feel they have to bottle everything up, put on a brave face, and deal with their problems alone. But being strong doesn’t mean suffering in silence. Asking for help isn’t weakness — it’s courage.**

At Enlighten the Shadows, we want to help break down the stigma surrounding men’s mental health. We want to create safe, welcoming spaces where men can talk, connect, support one another, and realise they are not alone.

💚 YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE THE RIGHT WORDS. YOU JUST HAVE TO TAKE THAT FIRST STEP.

Here’s how you can get involved with our community:

⚽ COME FOR A KICK ABOUT — EVERY MONDAY

A chance to get together, have a kick about, have a laugh, get moving, and enjoy some company. No pressure, no judgement — just an opportunity to get out of the house, meet people, and remember that looking after your mental health can start with something as simple as turning up.

🐕 SEAN’S GROUP AT THE DOG HOUSE PUB — THE LAST MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH

A welcoming space to come together, have a conversation, share experiences, listen to others, or simply sit among people who understand that life can be difficult. You don’t have to share anything you’re not comfortable with. Sometimes, just being there is enough.

🏃 COME FOR A RUN — EVERY THURSDAY

Our running group meets for a run around Mansfield Reservoir. Whether you’re looking to get more active, clear your head, build connections, or take that first step towards improving your wellbeing, you’re welcome. It’s about more than running — it’s about community, connection, and supporting each other.

💚 AND PLEASE REMEMBER — SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE BEYOND OUR GROUPS, TOO.

If you’re struggling, there are other organisations and services that can help. You could speak to your GP, contact NHS mental health services, reach out to local mental health charities, or speak to someone you trust. If you need someone to talk to urgently, Samaritans are available on 116 123, free of charge, day or night.

If you’re in immediate danger or unable to keep yourself safe, call 999 or go to A&E.

You don’t have to wait until you hit rock bottom to ask for support. You deserve help before things become unbearable.

TO EVERY MAN WHO IS STRUGGLING RIGHT NOW:

You are not a burden.
You are not weak.
You are not alone.
Your feelings matter.
Your life matters.
And there is no shame in asking for help.

And to the friends, partners, families, colleagues and loved ones reading this — check in on the men in your life. Don’t just ask once. Ask again. Make time to listen without judgement. You never know how much a simple “How are you really doing?” could mean to someone.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s do more than raise awareness. Let’s start conversations, challenge the stigma, look out for one another, and make it easier for men to reach out before they reach breaking point.

At **Enlighten the Shadows**, we believe that no man should have to face his darkest moments alone. Together, we can bring people out of the shadows and into the light. 💚

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST. You never know who might need to read it today.
