✨ Before & After Partial Nail Avulsion with Phenol 👣

An ingrowing toenail can be incredibly painful, making even simple activities like walking or wearing shoes uncomfortable.

This before and after shows the results of a Partial Nail Avulsion (PNA) with phenol a procedure where only the offending edge of the nail is removed. A small amount of phenol is then carefully applied to the nail matrix to help prevent that section of nail from growing back, reducing the chance of the problem returning.

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, meaning the toe is numb before treatment begins, helping to keep you comfortable throughout. 💙

Patients are often surprised by how quick the procedure is and, most importantly, how much relief they feel once that painful nail edge has gone!

If you’re struggling with recurring ingrown toenails, don’t keep putting up with the pain. Our team is here to assess your options and help you get back to walking comfortably again. 👣✨

There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing a patient has left feeling comfortable, reassured and, most importantly, pain-free. 💙👣

Katey always takes the time to explain each step of the treatment, answer any questions, and make sure every patient feels relaxed throughout their appointment. We know that visiting a podiatrist can feel a little daunting for some people, so creating a calm and welcoming environment is something we pride ourselves on.

Hearing that a patient walked out with happier feet and no pain is exactly why we love what we do! ✨

A huge thank you, Sarah, for your lovely review and for trusting us with your foot care. It really does mean the world to our team. 💙

🔍 Taking a closer look with dermatoscopy 👣✨

A dermatoscope allows us to examine the skin and nails in much greater detail helping us assess things that may not be visible to the naked eye 👀

In clinic, we use dermatoscopy to help:
✔️ Differentiate between corns, verrucae & callus
✔️ Assess fungal nails and skin conditions
✔️ Examine unusual pigmentation or skin changes
✔️ Monitor moles and lesions that may look suspicious
✔️ Support early identification of potentially cancerous or abnormal skin changes

Sometimes what appears to be “just a mark” can need further investigation which is why thorough skin assessment is so important 👣💙

Using tools like a dermatoscope helps us provide more detailed, accurate assessments and ensures patients are referred appropriately if anything unusual is identified.

Early detection matters ✨

💉👣 Precision, confidence and patient comfort. 👣💉

Here, Katey is administering a local anaesthetic before a nail surgery procedure, ensuring the treatment is as comfortable as possible for our patient.

We understand that the thought of nail surgery can make some people feel nervous, but local anaesthetic means the toe is completely numb before we begin, so you don’t feel pain during the procedure. 💙

Whether it’s an ingrowing toenail, a damaged nail or a recurring nail problem, our team will guide you through every step of the process, making sure you’re informed, reassured and comfortable throughout.

It’s always fantastic to see Katey continuing to develop her clinical skills and provide the high standard of care our patients expect. 👏✨

🎉 A huge congratulations to Katey! 🎉

After three years of hard work, countless placements, exams, late nights, and more cups of tea than she’d probably like to admit… Katey has officially passed her podiatry degree at the University of Plymouth! 👏🦶

For now, you’ll find her doing the very important job of relaxing on the clinic couch with a cup of tea, a few biscuits, and finally giving her podiatry notes a well-earned rest. ☕🍪

Katey is now waiting for her HCPC registration to come through, which will officially mark the next step in her journey as a qualified podiatrist ✨

And of course… there’s still one more celebration to come her graduation in December! 🎓🥳

We’re incredibly proud of everything Katey has achieved. Her hard work, dedication and determination over the past few years have been nothing short of amazing, and seeing her reach this milestone is so well deserved.

Something tells us the tea won’t be the only drink she’ll be enjoying this weekend! 🍹😉 After all, surviving a podiatry degree definitely deserves a proper celebration.

Congratulations, Katey you’ve earned every moment of it. We can’t wait to see you begin your career as a registered podiatrist and watch you continue to achieve great things. 💙

P.S. Tea and biscuits may have got her through university… but we’re fairly sure they’ll be swapped for something a little stronger to celebrate! 😂🥂

☀️🎤 Katey’s day off… Harry Styles edition 🎤☀️

Our very own Katey swapped clinic life for concert life and headed to London to see Harry Styles ✨

But before the singing, dancing and making memories could begin… there was one very important consideration… the feet! 👣😂

With London reaching a whopping 35 degrees, Katey definitely felt the heat 🥵

She spent some time debating whether the cowgirl boots were worth it 🤠… but the podiatrist in her made the sensible choice comfort was the priority!

Because standing and dancing for hours is much more enjoyable when your feet aren’t complaining halfway through 😅

A perfect reminder that sometimes the best footwear choice is the one that lets you enjoy the moment 💙👟

We hope Katey had the best time and we’re glad her feet survived the adventure! 🎶👣

After a busy week in clinic and a busy day at the Long Eaton carnival, there’s nothing better than getting out for a relaxing round of golf… although golf is only relaxing when the ball actually goes where you want it to! ⛳️

My middle son, Isaac, was home for the weekend and was absolutely sending the ball some distance. I decided not to try to keep up with him, mainly because I didn’t fancy putting my back out.

Thankfully, if that did happen, I know a really good physiotherapist. 😉

🎪☀️ What a fantastic day at the Long Eaton Carnival! ☀️🎪

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand to say hello, take part in our strength challenge, and chat with us about their foot, knee, back and mobility concerns 👣💙

One of the highlights of the day was our strength test, with some seriously impressive scores recorded throughout the carnival! 💪

🏆 Strongest Woman: Paula – an incredible 399N
🏆 Strongest Man: Daniel – a phenomenal 776N

A huge congratulations to both of our champions! 🎉👏 As winners, they’ve each earned a FREE gait analysis, and we can’t wait to welcome them into clinic to see what we discover about their walking, movement and biomechanics 👣✨

As well as having some fun, it was brilliant to meet so many people from the local community, hear about the issues they’re experiencing, and explain how podiatry, physiotherapy and our treatments can help keep people active, comfortable and doing the things they love 💙

And in our one brief moment of silence during the day… Lucy and katey may have accidentally wandered off to the fair and found themselves on the Waltzers 🎡😂. Purely for research purposes, of course! We can confirm their balance was thoroughly tested and survived the experience… just about 😅

Events like these remind us why we love being part of the Long Eaton community. Thank you to everyone who visited us, shared their stories, asked questions and took on the challenge. We had an amazing day and are already looking forward to next year! 🙌
