💚 Care doesn’t stop after a stroke. Neither do we.

This World Stroke Day, we’re recognising the incredible care professionals who support people affected by a stroke every day.

From helping people regain confidence and independence to providing reassurance, companionship and practical support, our care teams make a meaningful difference to the lives of those recovering from a stroke.

Today is also an important reminder that recognising the signs of a stroke and acting FAST can save lives.

To our dedicated care professionals, thank you for being there when it matters most, helping people live safely, confidently and independently in the place they call home.

Thirty years ago, Angela began her first role in care.

Today, she is CCH’s Regional Manager for Scotland.

Her journey has taken her from frontline care to senior leadership, with each role bringing new skills, greater responsibility and another opportunity to make a difference.

Angela’s progression shows what is possible when talented, dedicated people are given the support to learn, grow and take their next step.

At CCH, we believe care should offer more than a job.

It should provide a rewarding career with real opportunities to progress, while keeping people, dignity and compassion at its heart.

What a fantastic moment for CCH! 💚

Huge congratulations to our Managing Director, Wendy McCall, who has been elected to the Homecare Association Board following strong competition from an incredibly capable group of nominees. 👏

As the UK’s largest home care provider, we’re proud to bring the experience of our care professionals, the people we support and our communities into the conversations shaping the future of home care.

Working alongside the Homecare Association and fellow Board members, Wendy will help share expertise, tackle the sector’s biggest challenges and champion the recognition and investment home care deserves.

We know the greatest impact happens when the sector works together. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate, learn from one another and turn our shared ambition into meaningful change for care professionals and the people who rely on their support.

A brilliant achievement, Wendy. We’re incredibly proud to have you representing CCH and helping drive home care forward. 🎉

“It takes leadership, empathy, judgement and enormous resilience.”

That’s how our CEO, Nicola McQueen describes the work of care coordinators in her latest interview with Caring Times. 💚

“They keep great care running, and I think the sector should shine a much brighter light on them.”

It's a role that often goes unrecognised, but one that demands leadership, empathy, judgement and enormous resilience. And it's just one example of the incredible expertise that exists across social care.

In a wide-ranging Q&A, Nicola reflects on her journey into the sector, what makes working in care so rewarding and why she believes the future of care lies closer to home.

She also shares her ambitions for CCH, including creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported and proud of the difference they make.
Because great care doesn't happen by accident. It happens because of extraordinary people.

A big thank you to Caring Times for the opportunity to share Nicola's perspective and shine a spotlight on the people and expertise that make our sector so special.

Give us a second to brag.

Our Group CEO, Nicola McQueen, has just picked up the Lifetime Achievement Award at the TIARA Staffing & Talent Solutions Awards Europe.

Her track record makes the case: more than 25 years transforming businesses, pushing new ideas forward and inspiring people to achieve extraordinary things. Then there’s leading NHS Professionals through a pandemic, helping keep the health service running when the country needed it most.

That takes vision, nerve and an ability to bring people with you. The people behind the award also singled out her thoughtfulness and the support she’s given others along the way.

At CCH, we see that special combination every day. Nicola is putting our expertise and scale as the UK’s largest homecare provider behind a clear ambition: to help shape the next chapter of care. In her, we have a leader prepared to challenge how things are done, with the track record to turn ambition into action.

Congratulations, Nicola. A lifetime of achievement. And a lot more ahead of us. 🎉

Two brilliant finalists. One fantastic night of recognition. 💚

Last night, our CEO Nicola McQueen joined Care Manager Ashley Chilver and Registered Manager Thelma Akpakpa at the Social Care Leadership Awards 2026 in London.

Ashley was named a finalist for the Partnership Champion Award, while Thelma was recognised in the Mentoring Leader Award.

Two different categories. One shared commitment to supporting others and making a difference across social care.

Ashley’s manager, Maria Vizureanu, described her as:

“An excellent example of strong leadership, professionalism and genuine care.”

From stepping confidently into additional leadership responsibilities to building strong relationships with residents, colleagues, commissioners and community partners, Ashley’s impact is felt far beyond her own role.

And Thelma’s place among the country’s leading mentors recognises something equally important: the power of helping other people grow, develop and believe in what they can achieve.

Being selected as a finalist on a national stage is a huge achievement, and we’re incredibly proud that Nicola was there to celebrate alongside them.

A massive congratulations to Ashley and Thelma.

You represented CCH brilliantly. 👏

Cold? Absolutely. Quiet? Not a chance. ⚽

Yesterday, the The Charity Football League brought its 2026 season to a brilliant close near Newcastle.

And the final match definitely delivered.

The Greens and the Geordies went head-to-head in the title decider, with the Greens securing a 4–2 win.

There were big tackles. Bigger cheers. And plenty of determination from both teams.

But the day was about much more than football.

Over the past year, the league has raised an incredible £39,000 for six different charities, using every match to make a difference beyond the pitch.

We’re incredibly proud to support the Charity Football League and play a part in the extraordinary impact it continues to make across local communities.

A HUGE congratulations to the Greens, the Geordies and every team that took part this season. And a massive thank you to Gareth Horsley and everyone who made it happen.

Football. Fundraising. Community.

What a way to finish the season. 💚

Caring for others starts with caring for ourselves. 💚

Ahead of World Mental Health Day, we’re taking time this week to shine a light on mental wellbeing and the support available to the people who make care possible.

Every day, our colleagues give their time, energy and compassion to support other people. We believe they deserve to feel just as supported themselves.

Because wellbeing isn’t just about what happens at work. It’s worrying about your child when they’re unwell. Trying to get a GP appointment around a shift. Lying awake because of money worries. Navigating menopause. Struggling with anxiety, stress or depression. Or simply reaching a point where everything feels a bit too much.

That’s why we’ve invested in Wisdom, our new wellbeing service, giving every single one of our employees and their families practical support for the things that affect real life.

From unlimited virtual GP appointments through Kry, including evenings and weekends, to 24/7 confidential mental health support and structured counselling. There’s also specialist menopause and perimenopause support, financial wellbeing coaching, life and leadership coaching, legal guidance and more.

Because when your job is caring for other people, you should know someone is looking out for you too.

This World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to be doing more to look after the people who make care possible.

This Black History Month, we’re celebrating the Black colleagues, cultures and stories that help make CCH who we are.

Across our organisation, people from different backgrounds bring their own experiences, perspectives and talents to their roles.

That diversity strengthens our teams, enriches the support we provide and helps us learn from one another.

We’re also proud to see Black colleagues developing their careers, embracing new opportunities and progressing into leadership roles across CCH.

Watch the video to hear from some of our people and discover what celebrating culture, heritage and identity means across our teams.

Different backgrounds. One team.
