LaPelle's Factory

LaPelle's Factory LaPelle’s Factory is the creative partnership between theatre makers Olwen Davies & Ollie Smith. We make provocative and playful contemporary performance.

LaPelle’s Factory is a place where exciting and strange theatre is made. Sometimes our shows are mysterious and otherworldly, sometimes they’re straight down the line. We’re messy and weird (but not weird weird) – and we like laughing at ourselves and picking on each other. Anyone who’s up for being disturbed and delighted is invited along for the ride. We collaborate with a mix of artists to re-imagine and recycle, tying ourselves in knots and trying not to over-think it.

Olwen Davies is doing a making solo practice workshop at Nonsuch, weds 6th 6.30-8.30.

Coming to the studio on 20 June, The Black Cat is closely related to Edgar Allan Poe’s A Tell-tale Heart - concerning the growing insanity of a guilty mind. With a cat!

We want to share this modern twist on a classic story with as many people as possible, so we're working with The Difference Engine captioning app to make the performance more accessible to deaf and hard of hearing audience members.

"Tense and hilarious" The Black Cat is gravely good fun: bit.ly/BC_NewWimbledon

Today is screen legend and master of the macabre, Vincent Price's birthday. He's been in a number of Edgar Allan Poe adaptations (including ours, sort of).

Happy birthday Vincent Price.
