This week’s pathway spotlight focuses on the Sexual Health Shared Governance team. They told us about how Shared Governance has been improving staff and patient experience:

“We have had our Shared Governance Council at Sexual Health for about 1 year and within that time we have done some really exciting projects! Our Council is made up of senior nurses, HCAs and administration staff so it is a good representation of the whole team. One of our biggest achievements has been to make up a standard operating procedure for our phone lines which should improve patient experience and ensure patients get the correct appointments. We have also developed DNA posters which aim to reduce the amount of missed appointments within the service and have also organised staff at the service to get department hoodies. We are in the process currently of making a ‘Who’s Who’ photo board of staff members as we are such a big team this will be beneficial for those new to or visiting the service.”
