Recovery: Redemption & Self Realisation: an inspirational soul; with whom many share the struggle and resonate with their personal quest in search of the Sacred.....

'The Rain' is a powerful song that delves into themes of struggle, faith, and self-empowerment, using rain as a symbol of conflict and hardship. The lyrics reflect a journey through challenging times, highlighting the internal battle between right and wrong and the quest for peace with God.

A key message is the realization of ones own power to change their circumstances, demonstrated through determination to overcome challenges.

The lyrics also emphasizes faith and hope, with gratitude towards a higher power....SunraY Sage

People with are often told there are only two options when engaging with systems that exclude them:

Fight the system — and risk being dismissed as angry, ideological, or unworkable.

Or give in to it — over‑comply, assimilate, and earn a conditional seat at the table.

At New Central Media, we offer a third way. One that refuses both erasure and assimilation.

New Central Media exists because many of us are done with that bargain. At New Central Media, we do things differently.

We are putting out a call for Chapters for NCM’s forthcoming book ‘Global Majority Recovery Capital Pathways’ in 2027.

I am delighted that Lanre Adetimole and Sohan Sahota, two national leaders of the movement will join me as co-editors. They both lead ’s that work with global majority populations in their respective cities and regions. I have learnt so much from each of them.

As editors we do not change authors’ words to make them fit, we don’t sanitise language, smooth expression, or reframe lived realities to sound more “acceptable”.

Our books are author-led and grounded in lived experience as knowledge, evidence and authority.

We are inviting chapters that reshape the frame itself so expressions of interest in writing a chapter are now officially open.

Eligibility for this book:
1) are you a member of the global majority? See comments below for global majority groups explanation. Eligibility for this volume is limited to Global Majority contributors, including Black, Indigenous, Asian, Arab, and other racially minoritised communities.
2) were you previously in active addiction to alcohol and/or substances but now regard yourself to be in recovery?

DM us or comment below if this resonates with you, or if you would like to discuss the possibility of contributing to the book, or if you’d love to be involved

Please share and repost this invitation with your networks so that we can create more lived experience authors.

Today, we had the honour of welcoming Neghat Khan, Leader of Nottingham City Council, to the BAC-IN headquarters. Our meeting was both positive and productive, offering a valuable opportunity to discuss our journey and advocacy work. Since 2003, we’ve made significant strides in providing recovery-focused support services in Nottingham and across the East Midlands.

Following a discussion with our senior management team, Neghat took the time to connect with our service users—whom we affectionately refer to as "friends of BAC-IN". Their powerful and moving accounts of recovery highlighted the importance of culture, connection and belonging in their recovery journeys. Many expressed how BAC-IN’s core values—compassion, non-judgment, and the belief that everyone matters—have been pivotal in their self transformation.

Our "friends of BAC-IN" also shared how BAC-IN never gives up on individuals, embracing people from all ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds while advocating for underrepresented groups.

It was a true pleasure to present Neghat with a copy of the book - BAC-IN Chapter, pg. 79 (Race for Recovery: Leave No One Behind).
