Another day, another five star review!

Our lead physio Karen had a long day yesterday doing house calls followed by clinic sessions, but the twelve hour day was all worth it to find another five star review posted on Google by one of that day's patients:-

"I went in with a lot of shoulder pain and limited mobility from a rotator cuff problem.
Over the course of treatment this was completely resolved and my overall shoulder health and strength has increased.
Karen was excellent at explaining every exercise and the mechanics and physiology behind them all.

Sometimes it’s not about doing more exercises… it’s about doing the right ones. 😊

We recently saw a patient with a rotator cuff problem who had been doing all the exercises they’d been given, but they just weren’t helping.

Why taking a detailed history is vital in Physiotherapy.
Patient came in convinced they had a frozen shoulder and were expecting a recovery of up to 3 years.
But after a detailed subjective history and assessment, it actually pointed towards an AC joint injury.
Expected recovery? Closer to 8 - 10 weeks.

This is why the subjective history is vital in physiotherapy.
How symptoms started, aggravating movements, pain patterns, and mechanism of injury can completely change the diagnosis.

Two shoulder problems. Similar symptoms. Very different outcomes.
