Ellie’s Spring Socks are here.

A cuff-down sock with a picot edge, a textured motif, an reinforced heel, and a frill worked in the round. Available in seven sizes from baby to adult, so you can knit a pair for yourself and one for someone smaller while you are at it.
The pattern is also written to be adapted. You can adjust the cuff length, the foot length, and the heel depth to suit your foot, without losing the structure of the design. Whether you are knitting your first pair of socks or your fiftieth, there is something here to work with.

Use code SOCKS15OFF at checkout for 15% off. Offer ends midnight Saturday 21 June. Link in bio.

Every pattern goes through real hands before it reaches you.
This test knit brought together knitters from across the world, different yarns, different needles, same pattern. They gave their time, their honest feedback, and made this pattern better than it would have been without them. I am so grateful for every single one of them.
Ellie’s Spring Socks releasing tomorrow, with a launch discount. Follow so you don’t miss it.

Yarn festivals are not just for shopping and community. Every time I come back with a head full of design ideas, and this time was no different.
The only problem is that my stash grows faster than my knitting allows me to go through it. Does anyone know a speed knitting course? Anyone? 😆

As appears:

sock yarn, 80% BFL and 20% Nylon in a beautiful yellow, plus a grey for contrast.
burley and his brand Cocoon, fantastic colours. Got a sweater quantity of DK 100% BFL in Midnight and Not another olive!, a perfect pairing.

DuckyDarlings_yarns SW Merino in Shingle beach, ideal for another sock pair. I cannot stop thinking about new sock designs lately.

Classic DK in Boysberry and Suri Silk Lace in Wine O’clock, my second Suri Silk Lace from Shannon.

4ply sock in 100% BFL with the best name, Sabbath Black, perfect to pair with my rainbow minis I got at the Big Flock.
yarnunique Silky Sock in Rainbow Sky, my daughter’s favourite

Sundays at festivals are underrated. The pace slows down, people have more time to chat, and you can actually have a proper conversation without feeling like you are pulling someone away from a customer.

Picked up a few more yarns from makers I have bought from before. A haul reel is coming, as usual there was simply too much to resist and I cannot wait to show off my findings.

Oh, and I may have walked away with sweater quantities from .burley, already drafting a chart in my head on the drive home. 😆

One pattern. Knitters across the world. None of them had ever met.
That is what a test knit looks like, and it is one of my favourite things about designing patterns.
Before a pattern reaches you, it passes through real hands, real yarn, real living rooms and knitting bags. Different yarns, different needles, different time zones, same stitches. I find that genuinely magical every single time.
Thank you to every one of them. You made this pattern better.
Pattern releasing very soon. Follow so you don’t miss it.

Half term knitting at Doniford Bay

Apparently the hottest bank holiday on record, which meant about twenty minutes of actual knitting. Once in the morning, once in the evening when things cooled down a bit. In between, the sock stayed in the bag.

Plenty of other things to do though. Fossils don’t dig themselves out of the bedrock.

🧶 Sock in progress, pattern TBC
