I used to step out of the shower feeling exactly the same as when I got in.
Dry skin. Tight. A bit irritated. I genuinely thought that was just how my skin was.
Turns out it wasn’t my skin. It was the water.
Standard tap water contains chlorine and your skin absorbs it with every single shower. Once I found that out, I couldn’t un-know it.
Now I have a filter in my bathroom that reduces chlorine and adds minerals to the water before it reaches my skin. It’s inspired by Japanese hot spring bathing and honestly, my shower has never felt the same since.
It’s the five minutes a day that’s just for me. And now it actually feels like it.
