As a Hospice, we provide end of life care to people who have a life limiting illness, such as cancer, motor neurone disease, or heart failure.

Care and support is offered to our patients and their families of all cultures and faiths. The Mary Ann Evans Hospice offers a warm and welcoming home from home environment and was established to enhance the quality of life to people who have a diagnosis of cancer and other life limiting illnesses. at ever their needs:- physical, emotional, psychological, social or spiritual. The Day Hospice provides care for up to 15 patients a day Monday to Friday and the Hospice at Home Team offers dedicated care and support to patients who choose to be cared for in their own home. The dedicated team consists of a Staff Nurse and Senior Health Care Assistants who have experience working with palliative care patients. They provide regular respite visits, usually 3 - 4 hours in length, to enable carers to take a well earned break. The service is available 7 days per week 7am – I0pm and we also offer a limited night service from I0pm - 7am. Respite, personal care, support visits and phone calls are accessible on an individual basis within available resources. All care give is free of charge to those attending the Hospice.

This Wednesday, our hospice will be holding its monthly MND Support Group.

This is an informal and friendly space for people living with MND, and those important to them, to meet and share experiences.

Taking place in our Hospice Wellbeing Centre from 2 pm – 4 pm. If you would like to attend and haven’t done so before, please contact our team on 02476 865440.

Our Mary Ann Evans Hospice Shop in Coleshill was recently awarded funding through North Warwickshire Borough Council’s Shop Front Improvement Grant Scheme.

Thanks to this generous grant, our shop front has received a fantastic refresh, repainting all the window frames, sills and doors in fresh white paint. ✨

The improvements have brightened the entire storefront and created a clean, welcoming look for our customers and the local community.

We would like to extend our thanks to the grant panel and North Warwickshire Borough Council for selecting us as beneficiaries of this scheme. Your support helps us continue creating vibrant spaces that support the vital work of Mary Ann Evans Hospice. 🌻

Yesterday, our Wellbeing Service group attendees were inspired by the upcoming solar eclipse, with time and the night sky providing the themes for a creative activity. 🌻

The group created these wonderful pieces of artwork, incorporating the theme of star-sign constellations into their designs too. 🌙

We love sharing the creativity and artwork produced by those who attend our sessions, and we hope you enjoy seeing their work as much as we do! 💜

Our Community Engagement Officer, Sally, had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful residents of Bedworth Almshouses last Thursday, who have been busy raising funds for Mary Ann through their weekly coffee catch-ups. ☕

Their kindness and generosity over their past few weekly catch ups has raised a wonderful £350 for our hospice.🌻

It was lovely to hear how much the residents care about supporting their local community, and they have also signed up to host one of our donation bins next week, too!

We are truly grateful for all their fundraising efforts and continued support. 💜

We have availability for local businesses, schools or community groups to host our donation bins.

This is a great way to help raise awareness for Mary Ann, and at the same time contribute towards the cost of care delivered by the hospice.

Did you know, Mary Ann Evans Hospice receives just over 24% of our funding though the NHS? The remaining 76% is funded through voluntary income.

It may come as a surprise to you that we are not fully funded, but that is the reality of local hospice care.

As an independent charity, the care we provide is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Whether it’s through general donations, in memory donations, corporate support, grants & trusts or retail income. Every penny donated makes a vital difference. 💛

We have relieved heavily on the generosity of our local community for the last 35 years, and with your support Mary Ann Evans Hospice will continue to care for local families for the next 35 years and beyond. 🌻

A huge thank you and well done to Rachel, who took on the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis on 13 July. She raised an incredible £420 for Mary Ann Evans Hospice in memory of her Grandad Ray, Auntie Pauline and Pauline's mum, Liz. 🌻

Our Community Team supported her family in 2016 with empathy, care and compassion during her Grandad's final weeks. Rachel highlighted the same unwavering support was again provided by our hospice for both Pauline and Liz, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Reflecting on the challenge, Rachel said:
"It was tough going but worth every step and every effort to the summit for such an amazing cause."

A huge thank you, Rachel, for your determination, generosity and for helping ensure more families receive compassionate care when they need it most. Every step you took, and every penny raised, will make a difference. 💜
