With a few motorists contacting us feeling concerned for children walking between the village and Smiths of Pinwall shop, (which 40 years ago was normal for village kids but with a lot less traffic)
If your kids are going to walk please remind them of the green cross code!
When walking on a road with no pavement, you should keep to the right-hand side of the road to face oncoming traffic, wear bright or light-colored clothing, and be ready to walk in single file.
Essential Safety Rules
Face the traffic: Walking on the right lets you see approaching vehicles so you can react if needed.
Sharp bends: Cross to the left-hand side of the road before a sharp bend so oncoming drivers can see you earlier, then cross back after the bend.
We thought the kids could make good use of the Fox Connect bus service 😀 they can book drop off at pinwall and collection to the village!
