Siobhan didn’t come to care by the obvious route.
After more than 30 years in IT, working with systems, clients and teams across Europe, she was ready for a change. She still wanted to work, but she wanted something more local, more part-time and more human.
When she found Home Instead Reigate & Tandridge, what stood out was the time given to each visit.
Longer visits, with time to get to know someone and do things well.
Siobhan has found that plenty of her IT skills have come with her into care. Listening carefully, noticing details, asking good questions and sharing information clearly all matter when you are supporting someone at home.
She is still new to care and still learning, which is exactly why training, mentoring and support from the team have meant so much.
For Siobhan, the focus has changed from software systems to people in their own homes.
And that feels like a very good use of a lifetime’s experience.
