Not every aesthetic treatment needs to wait until Autumn.

A common misconception I hear is that aesthetic treatments need to be delayed during summer. Whilst this is true for treatments that increase your vulnerability to sun exposure or pigmentation, many are suitable in the summer. The outcome is also dependent on the timing and aftercare.

Many treatments, including Profhilo, polynucleotides, Skinvive and dermal filler can be suitable throughout the year. Injectable treatments offer a great option to hydrate skin, improve pigment and texture, reduce fine lines and restore volume.

The right treatment is determined by your skin, goals and lifestyle.

Going away this summer?

Preparing your skin for a holiday doesn’t have to mean packing more products or booking treatment at the last minute.

A simplifying your skin care regime can reduce the stress placed on the skin barrier with the bonus of saving space in your luggage.

I always include a few essentials: SPF and sun protection, vitamin C, double cleansers and a light weight moisturiser.

Treatments which improve the skin barrier, such as Skinvive, polynculeotides and Profhilo can be great options to book in preparation for a holiday however skin boosters take several weeks to show an effect so planning is key. Many treatments aren’t limited to the face so remember to consider a refresh for your body too.

Whether your goal is glowing skin with less makeup, improving skin quality before summer or creating a personalised skincare regime, a consultation can help you choose.

Your sunglasses protect more than just your eyes.

We often wear sunglasses to make bright summer days more comfortable, but they can also help to protect the delicate skin around the eyes.

The skin in this area is thinner than elsewhere on the face, making it more vulnerable to UV damage and consequently is one of the first areas to show signs of ageing.

Alongside SPF, sunglasses with UV protection are a simple way to look after your skin this summer.

If you are noticing changes around the eyes, there are also injectable treatments which can help. Book a consultation and we can discuss whether skincare, polynucleotides or another approach is most appropriate for you.

Your skin goes through a lot whilst you are trying to keep cool.

Sun, sea water, chlorine, heat and air conditioning can all affect your skin barrier leaving your skin feeling dry and dull.

Alongside some summer skin care adjustments, injectable skin boosters can enhance hydration and improve your skin barrier.

I consider Skinvive for those looking for long lasting hydration from a single treatment. Whilst polynucleotides are more helpful for those in need of skin barrier repair and lastly Profhilo which can help those looking to hydrate whilst treating mild laxity. Often, a combination of treatments gives the best results.

If you’d like to support your skin as we roll in to another heat wave, book a complimentary consultation to discuss which skin care and injectable treatments might be right for you.

Why bother with SPF?☀️

Prevention is better than cure. This sentiment applies to many aspects of medicine, not least skin health.

UV rays cause up to 90% of skin cancer and contribute significantly to skin ageing

This means, one of the most important things you can do for your skin is daily suncream. Whether you’ve had aesthetics treatments or not, suncream is one of the simplest and most effective ways to invest in your skin long term.

At Dr Soroya Aesthetics, treatment plans always start with a review of your daily skin care and sometimes a good skin care regime is all you need to get your skin glowing.

Stopped wearing lipstick as it doesn’t stay in place?

Patients are often nervous of lip treatments after seeing overfilled or unnatural results. However, when planned and injected with care, treatments to the lips and surrounding area can produce subtle results.

Hydrating treatments such as Skinvive can reduce fine lines around the mouth and lip body without increasing volume.

Polynucleotides around the mouth improve skin quality and reduce fine lines.

Dermal filler can restore structure, definition and volume; without looking over done.

Often a combination of treatments works best, to discuss which treatments may be helpful to you book a complimentary consultation. I’m always happy to discuss your concerns and how to address them.

Subtle signs you could benefit from cheek filler.

The mid face is one of the earliest areas to show structural signs of ageing. Bone and deep fat pad volume loss along side enlarged superficial fat pads contributes to tissue descent and loss of structure.

A lack of ligamentous support can contribute to under eye hollowing, the cheeks loose their natural contour, nasolabial folds deepen and marionette lines begin to develop.

Cheek filler is one of my favourite treatments as a small amount can have a subtle, refreshing effect.

If you would like to discuss if cheek filler may be beneficial to you, book a complimentary consultation for full facial assessment.

The role of polynucleotides.

Polynucleotides have become increasingly popular in aesthetic medicine due to their versatile target areas and ability to treat even the most delicate skin.

By injecting the building blocks for cell turnover, right where they are needed, polynucleotides improve skin quality and texture. They can brighten and smooth the under eye, soften fine lines, improve acne scarring and even improve inflammatory conditions.

To discuss whether polynucleotides may be beneficial for you, book a complimentary consultation via Glowday or I’m always happy to chat via message.
