Where the pain is, is not always the primary issue

Horses are incredibly good at compensating for pain. What starts as a subtle issue in one limb can quickly lead to a chain reaction elsewhere in the body.

For example, a mild hindlimb problem may cause a horse to shift weight or alter their movement. Over time, this can place extra strain on other areas, leading to secondary issues like back pain, front limb overload or muscle strain.

This is why early investigation is so important 🔍
By identifying and treating the root cause, not just the visible signs, we can help prevent ongoing compensatory injury and support a full recovery.

If you’ve noticed a change in your horse’s movement or attitude to work, it’s always worth getting it checked to ensure your horse is moving comfortably.
