HOT WEATHER UPDATE 🚨

Due to the ongoing heatwave, we have updates to Made-Well's offerings for this week:

1. Our cafe will be serving a reduced menu of cold food only - such as sandwiches, Ploughmans and snacks. Hot food, such as our cooked breakfasts, will be off the menu until further notice. This move keeps the kitchen cool for our staff 🥶🥵

2. Parent Carer Support Group and SENsory Nest Playgroup are CANCELLED. This is due to high heat in the Pebble. The groups will return next week and any current bookings for the SENsory Nest will be refunded.

HOME ED CANCELLED TOMORROW 23/06

Due to the hot weather and high activity level of our Home Education Social Group sessions, we have decided to cancel tomorrows groups. We will see everyone next week!

Made-Well, along with the rest of the county, is now under a RED WARNING for hot weather! 🥵

Please be mindful over the coming days, ensuring you remain in cool spaces, drink lots of water and reduce activity where possible. Particularly, for disabled individuals, heat can exacerbate symptoms or cause extra issues. Made-Well remains open, with our cafe offering cold drinks and ice creams as well as our usual menu of hot drinks, breakfasts, lunches, cakes and snacks 🍦🧃 We ask that visitors consider floor temperature if travelling with animals, who may struggle on our concrete paths.

⚽MASON AT MADE-WELL⚽

With the World Cup upon us, it felt only right to shout out our own football star Mason this week! One of the newer faces at Made-Well, Mason has jumped right in, enjoying music, animal walks and getting very involved in our recent SportyStars day (more to come 👀). We're so proud of Mason for settling into Made-Well so brilliantly, and are always glad to see him taking on new challenges - next, he'd like to learn piano 🎹

This year, the theme for Learning Disability Week is 'DO YOU SEE ME?', asking people to consider how they can empower and appreciate people with learning disabilities to make their own choices and reach their highest potential as individuals with their own interests and strengths ✨

At Made-Well, we work hard to offer a wide range of opportunities to meet a variety of interests and needs, as well as finding ways to engage wider hobbies or interests - for example, visits from Paramedics, Police and Mountain Rescue teams for individuals interested in public services, and putting on plays for those who love theatre! 🎭👮🏻‍♀️

On our wheelchair accessible site, we have an Animal Barn, Craft Pod, Garden, Cafe, Cooking Pod, Woodwork Workshop and Sensory Room, all of which are available for the people we support! 🙌

Looking for a fun family day out this weekend? 👀

Join us at Made-Well, near Hatherleigh, for free entry and plenty to enjoy for all ages. Meet our friendly animals, explore the accessible gardens, relax in the café with free WiFi and let the children burn off some energy in the wheelchair-accessible outdoor play area.

Animal Club runs every Saturday from 1pm to 2pm for just £5 per person. A great chance for little animal lovers to get up close, learn more about our animals and enjoy a hands-on experience.

We're dog friendly, wheelchair accessible and have both indoor and outdoor animal enclosures so there's something to enjoy whatever the weather.
