Trigger warning for millennial women!!

My photo album should have been a clue 🤔

When I was a child, my play consisted of setting out complicated "scenes" for my characters, tidying my room, collecting cute things, and taking pictures of the results!

We have absolutely smashed it when putting together this incredible team. Our approach is always to bring together different perspectives and experiences to support you and your family.

Our team is led by me, a Clinical Psychologist specialising in autism and learning disabilities, and all our assessments include input from our highly specialised Speech and Language Therapist, Jo. We know that many autistic people experience anxiety and low mood, so our autism assessments also incorporate a strong mental health element, provided by our Mental Health Nurse (and non-medical prescriber) Hayley. Bex is our Occupational Therapist who brings practical and sensory expertise to the team.

Olivia (Clinical Psychologist) and Hannah (Assistant Psychologist) are our therapy team, providing specialised support both before, and after diagnosis.

Lindsey supervises other healthcare professionals from across the North West, ensuring that they provide excellent care to all autistic young people with the NHS, and charity organisations.

Trisha is our Senior administrator who handles enquiries, accounts, and ensuring all our clients are supported on their journey with us.

Our final introduction is Cooper, who provides an invaluable service to clients who need extra special care 🐾

If you'd like to find out more about our autism assessment service, please get in touch. We also offer a screening service if you want to fund out if an autism assessment is right for you.

Online or in-person, which do you prefer?

There are lots of reasons why autistic people might prefer face to face appointments (although not everyone).

As a Clinical Psychologist, I do prefer seeing people in-person, mainly because it is helpful to see people's body language when dealing with emotional content.

We also do have lots of laughs!

An expensive day out!!

So many of our clients keep in touch, even years later. It's truly a privilege to hear about college, and uni, friendships, relationships, jobs and achievements.

Lots of our young people are now adults, and I couldn't be prouder of who they have grown up to be.

We do autism assessments and therapy, but our unpaid passion is building neurodivergent community.

Thank you sooooo much to the gorgeous .mcr go give them a follow. We had tge best time last night, thanks for being so welcoming 💕💕💕

Neurodivergent people need access to green spaces, as this can have a huge impact on mental health and wellbeing.

Even being outside for 5 minutes can make a difference. It can be hard to have the motivation to do this, especially if the sensory conditions aren't right for you. Pick a time of day when it is cooler (or darker if the sunshine is problematic), give yourself a reward for getting outside, and try to notice things around you; green leaves, clouds, the colour of the grass, the sound of the breeze.

Staying in the moment (mindfulness) is part of the mental health benefit.

Give yourself the encouragement, and permission to regularly access nature.
