We recently met with Paddy and Gary from Stagecoach, following a fantastic staff football match between Oldham and Middleton, organised by Paddy. We’re delighted to share that the match raised £478 for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice! ⚽

We’re also incredibly grateful to our friends at Best Food Logistics in Royton. Jill and Adele recently joined their staff barbecue and Summer Fun Day, despite the rain! ☔

A member of staff who had attended our Golf Day won a patio furniture set and generously donated it back to be raffled, raising £585. The winner then sold the furniture and donated a further £500, bringing the total raised to an amazing £1,085! 👏💜

What fantastic support from two brilliant local businesses. Thank you!

Despite the horrendous weather over the Bank Holiday weekend, all the events went ahead as planned and what a brilliant weekend it was! 🎉

These are just a few photos, but we wanted to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the events such a success.

Thank you to every pub and bar that took part in the Charity Cricket Match and Indoor Olympics at Royton Cricket Club - Cricket, Bowling & Running, there was plenty of fun, competition and fundraising.

And the Dr Kershaw’s Cowgirls are very proud to say that, for the first time in three years, we didn’t finish at the bottom of the table! 🏏

A huge thank you to our wonderful Fundraising Support Group, who held their very first Quiz Night last Thursday, with fantastic support from Ade and Lorna at Werneth Cricket Club. 🧠

It was a brilliant night, with lots of fun and friendly competition with over £1,000 raised for our Hospice! 👏

And the fun doesn't stop there! The group will be back at Werneth Cricket Club on 18th September for a Race Night, which is already looking like another fantastic evening. 🏇

August in the Gardens 🌿

It was a bright and busy month in the gardens, with cheerful sunflowers adding plenty of colour and bringing smiles to everyone who passes by. 🌻

Our kitchen garden has been thriving too, providing a wonderful selection of homegrown produce for the Hospice kitchen. From carrots, radishes and broccoli to tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, strawberries and spinach, it’s been fantastic to see so much being grown and used by our catering team. 🥕

The gardens have also been buzzing with activity, with plenty of pollinator-friendly flowers attracting bees and other important visitors. 🐝

Whether it’s somewhere to sit quietly, take a gentle wander or simply pause and enjoy nature, our gardens offer a peaceful and welcoming space for everyone who comes through our doors. 💜
