πŸ‘» Could you be wiped off our GP list without knowing?

πŸ‘» Don’t get wiped off our GP list without knowing. The NHS is checking patient lists across England and, because it’s moving fast, some people who still live here and still want to be registered are being wrongly removed β€” which can mean missing screening, reviews and important care. Two minutes protects you: βœ… Open the NHS App and check your address, mobile and email are correct. βœ… If you get a letter, text or email from the NHS or PCSE asking you to confirm details, respond straight away β€” don’t ignore it. βœ… Family or housemates registered here who rarely contact us? Please pass this on β€” they’re most likely to be removed without realising.

πŸ“Œ Save this and check your NHS App today. Tag someone who needs the reminder.

🦡 Aching back? Joint or muscle pains?

You can refer YOURSELF to physio.

You don't always need a GP appointment first. For many muscle, joint and back problems you can refer yourself directly to NHS physiotherapy β€” cutting out the wait.

Early movement advice and simple exercises are often far more effective than rest for back pain.

The self-referral link is on our practice website.

Getting the right help sooner means getting back to normal sooner.

πŸ“± 5 things you can do on the NHS App today

The free NHS App is more useful than most people realise. Right now you can:

(1) Order repeat prescriptions.

(2) View your medical record and test results.

(3) Book and manage some appointments.

(4) Get a GP health advice link.

(5) Keep your contact details up to date (which also protects you during NHS list checks and prevents you being removed as a registered patient at your practice).

Setting up takes a few minutes with photo ID. Search 'NHS App' on your app store.

πŸ₯ Oldham β€” this affects you. Have your say by 22 September.
NHS Greater Manchester is consulting on moving specialist vascular (blood vessel) surgery out of Royal Oldham Hospital to Manchester Royal Infirmary, and on bringing all adult heart surgery to Wythenshawe.
Vascular surgery matters hugely locally β€” it includes treatment for aneurysms, circulation problems, and the limb-saving operations people with diabetes can need. Most routine care would stay local, but the surgery itself and the hospital stay would move further away, just when families most need to be close by.
You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to say what matters to you β€” travel, visiting, recovery, access. The NHS can only weigh up what people actually tell them.

πŸ“’ Have your say: the future of heart and vascular surgery in Greater Manchester

NHS Greater Manchester has opened two public consultations on where specialist heart (cardiac) and vascular surgery will take place in future β€” and it closes on 22 September 2026.

Here’s why it matters, especially if you live in Oldham:

The vascular proposal would move all specialist arterial vascular surgery out of Royal Oldham Hospital and bring it together at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Vascular surgery treats serious problems with blood vessels β€” including aneurysms, poor circulation and the limb-saving operations that people with diabetes sometimes need.

NHS GM says most routine care β€” appointments, scans and follow-ups β€” would still happen locally, and only specialist surgery and inpatient stays would move to MRI.

But for Oldham patients and their families, that surgery and recovery is often the most important part of the journey, and it would mean travelling further, at the point when families most need to visit and support each other.

Whatever your view β€” for or against β€” the NHS can only take account of what people actually tell them. If you or your family have ever needed this care, or think you might, your response genuinely counts.
