A lot of people are exhausted from making progress in the wrong direction.

They are busy all day.

Working hard.

Staying occupied.

Yet their life barely changes.

The problem is not always effort.

Sometimes it is focus.

The right decision can create more progress than a thousand hours spent on the wrong task.

That is why successful people obsess over priorities.

They understand that where you aim your energy often matters more than how much energy you have.

Do not just work harder. Make sure it is worth working on.🔥

A lot of men are taught to keep going no matter what, but emotional struggles don’t suddenly appear overnight 🧠

They usually build slowly over time, and waiting until crisis point often means carrying things for far longer than necessary.

Support shouldn’t only become acceptable once someone is already struggling badly.

You don’t have to reach breaking point before asking for help 🤍

Therapist's top tips for mental health, Part 2 ✨

You don't need to have all the answers, be in crisis, or carry everything on your own.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is acknowledge that something isn't working and take the first step towards change 🧠

Mental health isn't built through one big decision, it's built through small choices, repeated consistently over time.

Therapist's top tips for mental health, part 1 ✨

People often assume mental health is all about what happens when things go wrong, but in reality, good mental health is often built through the small things we do every day.

As a psychotherapist, there are some of the things I wish more people prioritised.

Mental health isn't about being happy all the time, it's about having the support, awareness, and tools to navigate life when things feel difficult.

Part 2 up on my page🌿

A lot of men become very good at looking “fine.”

Meanwhile underneath, they’re exhausted.

A lot of men have been taught to cope quietly for so long that they don’t even realise how much pressure they’re carrying until it starts affecting everything else 🧠

- Relationships
- Sleep
- Stress levels
- Anger
- Motivation
- Alcohol use
- Mental health

Struggling doesn’t always look dramatic, sometimes it just looks like someone slowly losing themselves while still functioning on the outside.

You don’t have to wait until things completely fall apart to talk about how you’re feeling 🤍

Therapists are still people too 🤍

We still need rest, boundaries, and connection.

One of the biggest misconceptions about therapists is that we somehow have everything figured out, but sometimes we don't.

This makes empathy second nature to us, which is why we're so great at helping other people.

We understand how important it is to look after ourselves before we completely burn out.

We know that you can’t support other people properly if you never support yourself 📩

In my last video, I spoke about a man I worked with in rehab who had served in the military and spent years carrying more than anyone realised.

Like many people, he'd become very good at surviving.

His turning point came during a group session when, for the first time, the walls he'd spent years building started to come down.

He broke down completely.

I think sometimes people imagine healing as one big breakthrough moment, but the reality is often much messier than that.

But that moment of honesty became the start of something different.

Eventually, he came back to work at the very same rehab where he had once been a client 🤍

That's why I never underestimate what can happen when someone finally feels safe enough to be honest about what they're carrying.

Sometimes the moment that feels like you're falling apart is actually the moment things start coming together.

Some of the men I've worked with over the years looked like they had everything together on the outside.

One man I met while working in a rehab had served in the military for years.

He was disciplined, respected, and reliable.

If you'd met him briefly, you probably wouldn't have guessed he was struggling.

Underneath that strong exterior was someone carrying years of experiences he had never really processed.

Like a lot of men, he'd learned how to keep going.

Eventually, what we avoid has a way of catching up with us.

For many LGBTQ+ parents, parental responsibility still isn’t as straightforward as it should be.

There are often extra barriers, hoops to jump through, and emotional pressure placed onto families🌿

While these conversations are legal on paper, the emotional impact is very real.

Feeling unsupported or unseen by the system doesn’t just stay on paperwork, it affects relationships, stress levels, confidence, and emotional wellbeing too 🧠

These conversations matter, message me to explore how therapy can help đź“©

There are differences in how men and women tend to deal with mental health.

From what I’ve seen, men are often more likely to keep things in.

To distract, avoid, and push through.

Whereas women are often expected to talk, but that doesn’t mean they always feel able to either.

The way we’re taught to deal with things shapes how we cope, and sometimes, it stops people from getting the support they need.
