Multi Award Winning
Independent Family Owned and Run Funeral Homes Valentines Family Funeral Home are an Award Winning, Independent, Family Owned and Run Funeral Directors run by the Valentine-Fuller Family. We are committed to providing a very unique and bespoke, ‘HAVE IT YOUR WAY’ service. We cater for all religions and cultures and

we specialise in the little things that are often overseen by other Funeral Directors. We offer a very personal, family orientated service. We are first and foremost a family caring for other families with the utmost DIGNITY, HONESTY and RESPECT, at the very heart of everything we do. After losing our own special loved ones, we have made it our vocation in life to help families with, what we know is the hardest and saddest time of their lives. We strive to respond to the wishes of every family, by arranging the most appropriate and fitting farewell relevant to families’ personal and financial circumstances. We treat families as if they were our own and we never want families to face distress and grief alone. We will be there every step of the way personally, not only as a local undertaker but as a family friend. From the very first phone call, right up to the day of the funeral, bereaved families will be supported by the same person throughout. We will do everything in our power to fulfil families’ wishes.

Some families you serve once. Others, you have the privilege of walking alongside for years, through more heartache than any family should ever have to endure.

A few years ago, I had the honour of conducting the funeral of a young man named Taylor, taken far too soon. Earlier this year, I was entrusted with caring for his dear mum, Fay, and helping her family say their final goodbye.

I’ll never forget a quiet moment in the chapel, just the three of us — Taylor, Fay, and me. After being so incredibly strong for everyone around her, she finally allowed herself to break. She wept in my arms, her love for her son and the depth of her grief beyond words. It is a moment that has remained with me ever since.

One of the greatest privileges of being a funeral director is the trust families place in you. To be asked back, to care for the same family through multiple losses, is an honour I never take for granted.

Fay, your love for Taylor was unwavering and unconditional. I hope there is comfort in knowing you are together once more.

To your family, thank you for allowing me to walk this journey with you. It has been a privilege to care for those you love.

Rest peacefully, Fay.

Reunited with your beloved son, Taylor.

Gone too soon. ❤️

A Message from Valentines Family Funeral Directors & G.M. Valentine Family Funeral Directors

We have been deeply saddened, as so many across our profession have, by the recent events reported in Hull. Our thoughts are with every family affected — the trust placed in a funeral director at the most vulnerable moment of someone’s life is sacred, and any breach of that trust is a betrayal not only of those families, but of everyone who works with integrity in this profession.

Funeral directing is not a regulated profession in the way many people assume. That makes it more important than ever that families know what to look for.

When choosing a funeral director, please ensure they are a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and/or SAIF (the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors). Membership means adherence to a strict code of practice, regular inspection, and real accountability.

We are proud to have just passed both our NAFD and SAIF inspections, and we welcome full scrutiny into our profession. Care of the deceased and their families is not just our job — it is our calling.

If you ever have questions about how a funeral director should be caring for your loved one, please don’t hesitate to ask us. We’re here.

They are the ones who show up.

When the collection tin is heavy and the weather isn’t. When the grief in the room is unbearable and someone has to bear it anyway. When a cause needs a face and a pair of hands and nothing in return.

Volunteers carry the things the rest of us can’t always carry alone.

In funeral service, we see what life distils down to at the very end — and it is never the titles or the accolades. It is always the people who gave their time freely, lovingly, without condition.

This Volunteers’ Week, we honour every single one of you. The Poppy Appeal collectors. The grief supporters. The community guardians. The quiet ones who never asked to be thanked — which is exactly why we must. 🌹
