Supporting mental health in the workplace is no longer optional. It is a legal requirement, a moral responsibility, and a fundamental part of building a safe, productive, and resilient workforce. At MBO Safety Services, we work closely with organisations across the United Kingdom to help them understand their duties, protect their employees, and create environments where people can thrive.

A mentally healthy workforce performs better, communicates more effectively, and contributes to a stronger organisational culture. When mental health is neglected, employers face increased absence, reduced productivity, higher turnover, and potential enforcement action. That is why proactive mental health management must be embedded into everyday operations.

We assist employers by carrying out detailed stress risk assessments, developing robust mental health policies, delivering manager training, and providing ongoing compliance support. Our goal is simple: to help organisations meet their legal obligations while building workplaces where employees feel valued, supported, and safe.

If your organisation is ready to strengthen its approach to mental health, our team is here to help.

Another busy week comes to a close here at MBO Safety Services! 🚀
Our consultants have been travelling up and down the country, supporting clients with their essential health and safety requirements. 👷‍♂️📋

On Monday, we delivered a Confined Spaces training course for the fantastic team at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital(RJAH). It’s always a pleasure working with such a dedicated group and ensuring their staff receive high‑quality, compliant training. 💪📚

We returned to RJAH on Wednesday to deliver another Confined Spaces session. We trust the learners found the course valuable, particularly the practical components, and we look forward to continuing our training support for their outstanding team.

Also on Wednesday, we provided support to one of our long‑standing clients in completing their CHAS application. We recognise that accreditation processes can be both demanding and complex and remain fully committed to guiding our clients through each stage with clarity and professionalism.

Thursday was a particularly busy day for the team:

• Face Fit Testing for Chesworth Construction, ensuring their workforce is properly protected and compliant with RPE requirements 😷🔍

• A Fire Risk Assessment at The Astbury Golf & Lodge Resort, supporting their ongoing commitment to fire safety 🔥🏨

• PASMA Towers for Users training course for the brilliant team at R&R Roofing, who continue to demonstrate excellent dedication to safe working practices 🏗️📘

To round off the week, on Friday we delivered an Emergency First Aid at Work course for Palings Mechanical & Electrical Services. The session ran smoothly, engagement was excellent, and we were delighted to receive such positive feedback. 🩹👏

Asbestos Health Statistics in the UK: Why Competent Training Matters More Than Ever

The latest HSE data shows asbestos remains the biggest workplace killer in the UK, with around 5,000 deaths every year. Despite being banned in 1999, asbestos is still present in hundreds of thousands of buildings, meaning the risk hasn’t gone away.

At MBO Safety Services, we’re committed to helping organisations protect their people through UKATA‑approved asbestos training.

🔹 Asbestos Awareness Training: for workers who may encounter asbestos but won’t intentionally disturb it
🔹 Non‑Licensed Asbestos Training: for those required to work on low‑risk ACMs

📅 Next Non‑Licensed Course: 17 August

Competent training saves lives. If your team works in environments where asbestos may be present, now is the time to act.

What UK Venues Must Do Before 2027

Martyns Law is coming, and UK venues must start preparing now. The Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025 introduces new legal duties for public spaces, from staff training to full security planning.

At MBO Safety Services, we are helping organisations understand their responsibilities and stay compliant ahead of enforcement in 2027.

We are also gauging interest in the new NEBOSH terrorism‑protection qualifications, designed to support both Standard Duty and Enhanced Duty premises.

If your venue needs guidance, training or support, our team is ready to help you prepare.
Safety is not optional. It is essential.

Farm Safety Week is a crucial reminder of the real risks faced across UK agriculture. With 29 fatalities recorded between April 2025 and March 2026, and thousands more suffering life‑changing injuries, the need for safer working practices has never been clearer.

At MBO Safety Services, we see the human impact behind these statistics. From vehicle overturns and machinery entanglement to livestock incidents and heat‑related fatigue, every accident affects a person, a family and a business.

This week encourages farmers to pause, reflect and make one meaningful change that improves safety. Even small steps, such as a risk check or improved maintenance, can prevent serious incidents.

We are committed to supporting safer farming through tailored audits, practical risk assessments, hands‑on training and ongoing compliance support.

COSHH isn’t just compliance, it’s protection.

Every workplace uses chemicals, dusts, fumes and flammable substances that can harm health or create dangerous atmospheres. Yet many organisations still rely on outdated assessments, poor labelling, missing SDSs or inconsistent storage, all of which increase risk and weaken safety culture.

Strong COSHH and DSEAR management is one of the most effective ways to safeguard employees, reduce downtime and demonstrate a genuine commitment to responsible operations.

At MBO Safety Services, we help businesses build practical, robust systems that go beyond paperwork. Our support covers everything from task‑specific COSHH assessments and SDS management to full DSEAR reviews for spray booths, workshops and storage areas. We identify gaps, strengthen controls and ensure your workplace is protected from both health hazards and explosive atmospheres.

Whether you’re dealing with everyday cleaning chemicals or flammable paints and solvents, our team ensures your documentation, storage, training and monitoring meet regulatory expectations and keep your people safe.

Our consultants have been travelling across the country supporting clients with their health and safety needs, and it’s been fantastic to see so many organisations investing in quality training.

We also attended the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Summer BBQ Networking Event — a brilliant opportunity to meet new faces and connect with businesses across the region.
