Happy Solstice 🌞

Solstice wasn’t a part of my life growing up. One of my closest friends would wish us a happy solstice every year and I thought it was nice (and a bit weird) and left it at that.

Over the last few years though, as I’ve become more interested, connected and attuned with nature, solstice has grown a meaning for me. Marking a halfway point in the natural world’s year, the peak of sun energy, a moment to pause, appreciate the sun that rises every day and sets every night, to reflect on the year so far and the days to come, to reconnect and align with nature, with the seasons and with myself. Sharing it with friends makes it all the more sweet and all the more meaningful. I was full of the love vibes this morning as the sun burst forth on the horizon! ☀️💛

Whatever it means to you and even if it means nothing and you think it’s a bit weird, Happy Solstice fellow human xx

FREE monthly wellbeing workshops for carers of a loved one living with and beyond cancer.

The first workshop takes place a week on TUESDAY, 9th JUNE.

A few details:
💚FREE to attend as part of the Lingen Davies Wellbeing Programme
📍Held at Gatacre Pavilion, Oswestry, SY11 1DR (free parking available)
🕘 10am–12pm
☕️ Refreshments and all materials provided
🌳 Each session includes: a guided meditation, a mindful activity, a gentle nature walk (weather permitting)

These workshops are designed to offer carers a compassionate, judgement-free space to pause, reconnect, and take some important time for their own wellbeing. You’re very welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as feels right for you.

*** Please bring comfortable and appropriate footwear and waterproofs for the walks - though if the weather is wild, we’ll simply stay cosy indoors instead ***

🌻Stepping Away to Move Forward🌻

Recently, I took a bit of a holiday from my life.

I’d realised I was going in circles with the same problems, trying to solve them with the same thinking.

So, I changed the input.

I spent three weeks in Portugal doing a WorkAway, swapping my usual routine for something completely different. New people, new conversations, more time outdoors, less time behind a screen. Giving my mind fresh experiences and perspectives to work with.

And it worked.

I came back feeling lighter, inspired and motivated. Before the trip, I felt stuck. Now, something has shifted and started flowing again.

It reminded me of the power of stepping away. Not everyone can disappear for a few weeks, but the principle is the same: do something different.

Take a walk. Try a new route. Learn something new. Meet new people. Give your mind fresh input.

Sometimes, a small change in perspective is all it takes to get things moving again.
