But still we’re posting it… most of our content is designed to educate patients on what is available, what is safe, what we, as a team can offer you, but,
did you know that advertising botulimum toxin (often incorrectly called Botox- this is a trade name like brands of coffee etc and a good proportion of practitioners use other brands), advertising discounts, or actively touting for models for prescription injectable treatments is a breach for the ASA advertising rules?

This isn’t coming from a place of bitterness or criticism — it’s about education and compliance.

Terms such as anti-wrinkle, muscle relaxing, toxin, and Botox are all prohibited in advertising for prescription-only medicines. So are advertising prices, discounts, or price lists for these treatments on social media.
Despite this, so many practitioners still do it, how many of you see this daily?
And honestly, this is the very basics.
If a practitioner doesn’t understand the advertising rules, laws and guidance around the products and treatments they are promoting, it does make you wonder:
What else don’t they know?
And perhaps more importantly, what other rules are they willing to bend?
This isn’t about being petty or trying to take anyone down. It’s about understanding that compliance is part of being a responsible practitioner.
The rules around prescription-only medicines and aesthetic advertising exist for a reason. Knowing them — and following them — should be the bare minimum.

We know this is going to go down like a lead balloon, so why have we posted it? To keep you updated and most importantly, safe, in this Wild West, we call the aesthetics industry.
