Enjoy this long weekend! I did get to the Beach 🏖️ this August, a real treat visiting my Aunt (technically Mum’s cousin) for a lovely dip in the sea at the golden sands of West Wittering. With this super hot summer the water was really warm and the joy of giggling kids and calm sea in the cooling afternoon.

Thank you to some lovely guys came and helped my Aunt lift back up from the beach, tricky with a broken arm, so really appreciated their attentiveness.

Hope you have or are enjoying the summer, our Autumn term of yoga starts up again from 9 September, giving everyone time to settle into the school term and back to daily commutes.

What a treat! I’ve been spoilt with gift of mini red and black/purple tomatoes. 🍅 My own yellow tomatoes have been reluctant to ripen so like Karen’s tip of cutting them off with stems and leaving to ripen indoors as damp weather has definitely set in! The squash self seeded so will see how cooks up as a little dull looking…

A good excuse to use my thrown bowls and show the alien Amaranth’s throwing out side shoots!!! My gardening win this year. Enjoy your weekends whatever

Hope we can all continue Dolly’s positive drive & embrace good in folk. Share your smile 😀 😊 😃 today

Free Friday tomorrow morning? Why not join our last of the merged 10am summer class tomorrow morning, a wonderfully mixed ability group until Autumn term the two classes reform.
Friday Hatha Yoga ~ 10am – 11.30am
Old Headington Village Hall. Last 10am session 28/08/2026!

Starting from 11 September: Fancy starting your weekend early with Hatha Yoga? Two classes give option to find your level. Experienced and want to challenge yourself then 9.30am gives you just that. Wanting to try yoga for first time, return after a lapse or find you want to have a just a little longer to arrive in poses then 11.10am is your new Friday in Old Headington Village Hall!
Friday Hatha Yoga ~ 9.30am – 11am
Friday Mindful Yoga ~ 11.10am – 12.25pm

Both classes offer drop in, so if you have a long weekend you can hop onto your mat before you head off on your travels. Yoga can be a great de stressing and give your body some TLC before crumpling into a plane seat, or which transport are you choosing? Folding your self into a car or train seat?

There's a bike rack at the hall too. Two intrepid folk cycled from UK and joined our summer yoga retreat in Italy last summer. They really appreciated undoing all the miles they had criss-crossed Europe. Come and lengthen your tight legs if you cycle regularly, yoga can ease discomfort and help avoid muscle cramps.

Prefer Yoga in your own space or while travelling? The new 10 minute sessions are proving popular as a top up between classes or creating a mini daily practise.

I've designed these bite size sessions to have limbering and a core strengthening warm ups to lead into and give a balance in the key pose or sequences that feature each week.

Jackie Shared FB 28/7/2026:
"I’m loving my 10 minute of yoga which I do first thing in the morning in the garden
Such a great way to start the day 💜."

Repeat watching through the week, maybe ease yourself into regular self practise. As a beginner Fiona signed up to 10 min sessions to keep up her progress:
“I’ve just done the 10 min session and I loved it your instructions were really clear so I could follow without needing to stare at the screen all the time!”

It's a good way to keep topping up your learning while away or classes paused for the holiday season. A simple pause to breath and all wrapped up in 600 seconds. Book yourself a bit of self care with Yoga at Home.

There is the live online yoga class tomorrow evening, Monday at 6.15pm, if you would like interactive class at full 90 minutes. From my home to yours via Zoom. We return to 6pm from 14 September, drop in or sign up for the Autumn block. Join a friendly online small community of yoga regulars.

My two of my favourite things in this photo! Yoga and wild flowers patch. I love the warrior poses, or Vibrahasanas as so good to ground us and feel steady. Our wild flowers that supersized as we watered in the new bed (when we were allowed to). I assumed they would be knee high and maybe scraggly but hey so worth giving up half the lawn. These whopper plants are called Amaranthus and unusually all maroon leaves too. Be interesting to see what reseeds itself for next year.

Not sure it’s worthy of 📸 but tells the story of my summer even if I have spent most of it hiding indoors from the sun and it’s heat.

Come and be a warrior of peace yourself in this evening's class 6.45pm in Deancourt Community Centre.
