Sue was all smiles enjoying a game of garden bowls in the sunshine this week at The Headington Care Home โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

After a difficult week, it was lovely to see her laughing, joking and spending time with the other wonderful residents as everyone joined in with a morning of garden games. We even had a few rounds of garden tennis too ๐ŸŽพ

There was plenty of friendly competition, lots of cheering each other on, and plenty of fun packed into one sunny morning ๐Ÿ˜Š

What an incredibly special day we had at The Headington Care Home as our lovely Audrey celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family, friends and everyone here at the home ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’œ

Her room was filled with balloons, banners and so much love as we all came together to mark such an amazing milestone. Audrey was absolutely spoilt with thoughtful gifts, beautiful flowers and not one, not two, but three birthday cakes ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿ˜Š

One of the highlights of the day was Audrey receiving a birthday card from King Charles, which made the celebration feel even more memorable. Seeing Audrey smiling with her family around her made the whole day so special for everyone here.

100 years loved. 100 years celebrated. 100 years unforgettable ๐Ÿ’œ

Last week, Kathleen and our Activities Coordinator, Lisa, had a lovely day out together ๐Ÿ’œ

The pair hopped on a local bus and headed into Headington for a browse around the shops, picking up a few bits along the way. After all of that shopping, a well deserved lunch stop at The Britannia Inn was definitely needed and it was delicious!

Kathleen chose the salmon and said she had a lovely day, which is exactly what we love to hear. Sometimes all you need is a little retail therapy, good company and a catch up over some great food ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

In loving memory of our much loved resident Michael at The Headington Care Home ๐Ÿ’œ

It is with great sadness that we share Michael passed away on 8th May 2026, surrounded by love. Although his time with us was short, he very quickly became a cherished part of our home and touched the hearts of residents and staff alike.

Michael was a devoted husband, father and a dear friend to many. We will always remember his gentle nature, his kindness, and the way he could bring a smile to the room. He also had a real love for singing, and we feel lucky to have shared those musical moments with him ๐ŸŽถ

He enjoyed sitting and chatting with others, and had a wonderful way of making people laugh and feel at ease. Michael will be deeply missed by everyone at our home.

We send our heartfelt condolences to his family at this very difficult time, and a sincere thank you for the thoughtful hamper, which was greatly appreciated. It was a privilege to care for Michael and to get to know him ๐Ÿ’œ

Rest in peace Michael, you will always be in our thoughts and memories ๐ŸŒน

A massive happy 88th birthday to Anne ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿ’œ

We spent a lovely time celebrating with her at The Headington Care Home as she opened her birthday presents, and she was absolutely over the moon with her gifts. Four new books to read and two adorable little pens were definitely a big hit ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

Anne had us all smiling when she said she might just start her own mini library, and joked that we might not see her for the next six months because sheโ€™ll be happily reading away ๐Ÿ˜Š

It was such a joyful celebration filled with laughter, warmth and plenty of birthday cheer. A very special day for a very special lady ๐ŸŽ‰

Our lovely residents enjoyed a lively and uplifting session of chair exercises with Alfie here at The Headington Care Home ๐Ÿ’œ

There was plenty of energy in the room as everyone got moving at their own pace, stretching, lifting and gently working through the exercises together. Alfie kept the session fun and encouraging, and there were lots of smiles (and a few giggles) along the way ๐Ÿ˜Š

It was a great way to get everyone through their paces while still keeping things relaxed and enjoyable. Our residents always love taking part in these sessions and itโ€™s lovely to see everyone joining in together ๐Ÿ’ชโœจ

Our wonderful residents enjoyed a fun packed afternoon filled with live music and plenty of happy moments here at The Headington Care Home ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’œ

We were joined by the lovely Doug, who performed a fantastic selection of songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. It didnโ€™t take long before the room was full of singing, toe tapping and plenty of smiles all round ๐Ÿ˜Š

There was lots of dancing too, with residents enjoying familiar favourites and sharing little memories sparked by the music. It was such a lively and joyful afternoon, just the kind we all love here at the home ๐ŸŽคโœจ

April didnโ€™t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and thatโ€™s what made it so special ๐Ÿ’œ

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinsonโ€™s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St Georgeโ€™s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile ๐Ÿด

Itโ€™s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

A big thank you, as always, to our teams for everything they do to make those moments happen

Hereโ€™s a little look at April across our homes ๐Ÿ“ธ

We always love welcoming our Mini Concerts groups into our home, and this time we had the lovely Zoe joining us for a mini jazz concert ๐Ÿ’œ

She treated our wonderful residents to a mix of well loved classics, putting her own spin on them as she went. It wasnโ€™t long before everyone was singing along, with a few of our residents even up on their feet having a little dance ๐Ÿ˜Š

There was such a warm, relaxed feel in the room, with different versions of familiar songs sparking memories and plenty of smiles all around ๐ŸŽถ

A big thank you to Zoe for such an enjoyable visit. Do you have a favourite jazz song youโ€™d love to hear live? ๐Ÿ’œ

Over the Easter period, our home was filled with creativity, laughter, and a little bit of mischievous fun as our residents dived into arts and crafts. With glue, glitter, and plenty of imagination, everyone got busy creating their own special Easter masterpieces ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโœจ

Our amazing residents enthusiastically designed and decorated their own Easter bonnets, each one bursting with colour and personality, while others focused on painting beautiful Easter pictures that brought the spirit of the season to life. The joy of making something with their own hands was clear in every smile, every sparkle, and every shared laugh ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’œ

But the fun didnโ€™t stop there! Our creative residents also worked together to craft decorations for the home, filling every corner with festive cheer and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It was wonderful to see teamwork, creativity, and a sense of pride shining through in everything they made ๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿ’œ

These special Easter activities reminded us all how important it is to celebrate together, enjoy the simple joys, and make lasting memories filled with colour, laughter, and community ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŽจ
