A 2025 double-blind randomised trial published in Nature Scientific Reports.

47 people with brain injury, 40 sessions at 1.5 ATA versus a sham protocol.

The HBOT group showed a mean improvement of 10.6 on the Neurobehavioural Symptom Inventory, against 3.6 in the sham group (p=0.01), with further gains at 9 and 12 months.

This is direct, sham-controlled validation at 1.5 ATA. One of the strongest brain-injury HBOT trials published to date.

How does HBOT actually support recovery?

Oxygen is the rate-limiter for almost every part of repair: muscle rebuilding, lactate clearance, inflammation resolution, mitochondrial function.

In a pressurised chamber, more oxygen dissolves into your bloodstream, reaching tissues that ordinary breathing cannot easily oxygenate.

It works best alongside good sleep, nutrition, and training rhythm. The extra oxygen gives your body more to work with.

Oxygen is the rate-limiter for almost every part of repair: muscle rebuilding, lactate clearance, inflammation resolution, and mitochondrial function.
