At Bluebird Care, we believe that maintaining independence means continuing to enjoy the things that bring joy, purpose, and fulfilment.

Recently, one of our live-in customers, Mrs S, enjoyed a wonderful day out in the beautiful town of Henley-on-Thames with the support of her dedicated live-in care companion. Although Mrs S had been feeling a little under the weather and was understandably apprehensive about the day ahead, she had been looking forward to a planned boat trip along the river.

With patience, encouragement, and reassurance, her live-in carer helped build her confidence and supported her every step of the way. Thanks to that compassionate support, Mrs S felt able to go ahead with the excursion and thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the water, taking in the scenery and experiencing something truly special.

Moments like these demonstrate how live-in care is about so much more than practical support. It is about enabling people to live life on their own terms, pursue the activities they enjoy, and remain connected to their community while continuing to live safely and independently in the comfort of their own home.

We're proud of our incredible care team for making experiences like this possible and helping our customers continue to create meaningful memories every day💙

After an unexpected hospital stay, Mr W had been unable to see his wife for over three weeks. Due to her own challenges and lack of transport, visiting him in hospital simply wasn't possible. While they managed to stay in touch by phone, their conversations were often brief and the distance was understandably difficult for them both after barely spending more than a few nights apart from each other.

Wanting to make a difference, our Community Development Lead, Nozi, and Deputy Manager, Jo, worked together to arrange a special surprise visit. Seeing them reunited after weeks apart was an incredibly emotional and uplifting moment. The joy on their faces reminded us all of the importance of connection, companionship and supporting people to maintain the relationships that matter most.

At Bluebird Care, our role goes beyond providing care at home. We are committed to enhancing wellbeing and helping our customers continue to enjoy life's most meaningful moments!💙

Today, our Community Development Lead shared some cooling gifts with our amazing carers to help them stay comfortable during the warmer weather🌞

Our carers spend their days supporting others with compassion, dedication and kindness, so it’s important that we take the time to look after them too.

These thoughtful gifts are a small token of our appreciation and a reminder that our carers’ wellbeing and comfort matter to us.

Thank you to all our amazing carers for everything you do. We’re proud to support you, just as you support our community!💙

This week, we were incredibly touched by the kindness and appreciation shown by Mrs H, who celebrated our team's support over the past two years.

When Mrs H left a care setting two years ago, her wish was to remain in the comfort and familiarity of her own home with her daughter. Through tailored care and ongoing support, we have been privileged to help her achieve exactly that, maintaining her independence and quality of life where she is happiest.

To mark this milestone, Mrs H surprised our team by decorating her room with banners and thoughtful gifts as a heartfelt thank you. The room was filled with smiles, laughter and emotion as we reflected on the journey we have shared together.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Building meaningful relationships and helping people live independently at home is at the heart of everything we strive to achieve.

Thank you, Mrs H, for your generosity, your kindness, and for allowing us to be part of your journey. Your appreciation means the world to us!💐

Here's to many more happy memories and continued independence at home💙
