At Aahep: Association for Animals, Horticultural & Equine Practitioners (AAHEP® pronounced “Arr-hep”) collaboration isn’t a slogan, it’s one of the principles that guides everything we do.

As an independent, market-led Accredited Register, AAHEP believes that raising standards happens when we listen, engage and work with the wider sector.

That’s why we:

* globally engage with practitioners from across the profession, including many who are also members of networks and professional membership organisations.
* run polls and consultations so that AAHEP members can help shape the future of the different registers. For example we are busy sending out plaques to Organisational Members as this is just one of the things that these Members have asked us for.
* Keep abreast of developments, guidance and updates from Accredited Registers and relevant professional membership organisations, considering how these can strengthen the policies, procedures and standards that underpin the register.
* Support wider market initiatives, symposiums, conferences that promote public confidence, professionalism, animal welfare and good governance.
* have developed an international register for individuals that meet the similar high standards (as appropriate) set by the Professional Standards Authority under the accredited register.
* continue to reach out across the equine industry to encourage collaborative solutions to important issues, including equine welfare and the licensing challenges that continue to affect equine assisted services and the wider animal and horticultural space.

The accredited register’s commitment is to continuous improvement. That means listening to different perspectives, reviewing emerging good practice, and ensuring the accredited registers standards evolve alongside the profession.

Every conversation, every partnership and every piece of constructive feedback helps us build a stronger, more trusted profession, one that benefits practitioners, commissioners, participants, animals and the wider public.

By working together, we don’t just raise standards, we help shape the future of equine, animal and horticultural assisted services.

New Media guidelines 🙏 Iahaio_official

⚙️So beautifully put - let’s all as global members look to raise the bar “together” rather than keep reinventing the wheel in the name of collaboration - especially when there is a whole lot of great collaboration going on ⚙️

In today’s fast‑moving digital age, images of human–animal interactions (HAI) travel further and faster than ever — and they shape how the world understands our work. IAHAIO’s new guidelines help ensure those images reflect ethical, respectful, welfare‑focused HAI.

IAHAIO and our global members are already working within this framework, choosing visuals that show animals and people safe, comfortable, and well‑represented. We invite organizations, practitioners, and researchers to work with us in raising the bar and sharing images that truly honor the relationships at the heart of HAI.
