Have you ever agreed to something you didn’t want to do… just to avoid disappointing someone?
People-pleasing is often described as a personality trait, but what if it’s actually a nervous system strategy?
When conflict, rejection, or disapproval feels unsafe, keeping the peace can become a way of protecting ourselves. The problem is that over time, constantly prioritising everyone else can leave us disconnected from our own needs, preferences, and sense of self.
In this video, I explore people-pleasing through a nervous system lens and why understanding the why behind our behaviour can be the first step towards change.
💚 If this resonates, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
