These are three of the people behind the day-to-day running of The Devon Clinic.

Chris Fleet – Founder & CEO
Su Reeves – Operations Manager
Merv Evans – Office Manager & Counsellor

Between us, we look after everything from clients and practitioners to placement students, finances, projects and the general running of the charity.

We certainly don't do it alone. The Devon Clinic works because of the practitioners, students, volunteers, trustees and supporters around us.

Our job is to make sure everything keeps moving in the right direction.

And the principle behind it remains very simple:

Meet Chris Fleet, Founder & CEO

Chris founded The Devon Clinic with a simple idea – good quality therapy should be available to people regardless of what they can afford.

Since then, the clinic has grown into a registered charity with a large team of practitioners offering a wide range of mental and physical health support.

Chris still works with clients himself, as well as helping develop the charity and looking at new ways we can support more people across Devon.

One of the big things on the horizon is Walk Devon 2027.

The aim is to bring people together, raise money for The Devon Clinic and help us continue offering affordable support to people who need it.

For Chris, that is really what the clinic has always been about.

Meet Merv, our Office Manager and one of our counsellors.

Merv helps keep the office organised and is also heavily involved in supporting the placement counsellors who come to The Devon Clinic as part of their training.

He has an excellent eye for detail, which is particularly useful when there are lots of practitioners, students, clients and appointments to keep track of.

Alongside all of that, Merv continues to work directly with clients as a counsellor.

He is a really important part of the team.

Could you walk across Devon for accessible mental health support? 💚

Walk Devon 2027 is an unforgettable 112 km (approximately 70-mile) coast-to-coast challenge from Westward Ho! to Paignton via Dartmoor, taking place overnight from Friday 18 June to Saturday 19 June 2027.

You can take on the full challenge, join a shorter section, or support the team along the route. Every participant commits to raising at least £250 for The Devon Clinic, or £1,000 for a team of 4–8.

Your fundraising will help us provide affordable counselling, psychotherapy, specialist trauma support and community wellbeing projects for people who need professional mental health support but can afford it least.

We’ll help you set up your JustGiving page and support you with your fundraising. You won’t be alone on the journey either: checkpoints, volunteers, medical cover and night-section support will be in place.

Meet Su, our Operations Manager.

If there is one person who knows what is happening at The Devon Clinic, it is probably Su.

Su is our Operations Manager and, in many ways, the glue that holds the clinic together.

She looks after our clients, supports our practitioners and deals with all the little things that need sorting every day to keep the clinic running smoothly.

A lot of what Su does happens quietly in the background, but it makes a massive difference to everyone who uses or works at the clinic.

Today was our 1st business owners walk and talk event
We went for a short stroll from Widecombe in the Moor up and over Bonehill Rocks before a meal in the excellent The Old Inn in Widecombe.
Then we went up and over Hameldown back to Widecombe, finishing at around 5.00pm
It was so good to be around like-minded people, no phone, no Internet, no pressure
The thing is I came away with more insights and ideas than ive had from a week full of networking meetings

🚶 Would you like to combine getting fit, meeting other business owners and talking about business?

Qe are putting together a new Business Walk & Talk group here in Devon.

The idea is really straightforward.

Instead of sitting in another meeting room or coffee shop, we'll head out for a walk together. We'll chat about business, share ideas, support one another through the ups and downs of running a business, and enjoy some fresh air at the same time.

You don't have to be an elite walker. We'll choose routes that suit the group, and the focus is on the conversations just as much as the miles.

Running a business can sometimes feel lonely. This is an opportunity to connect with like-minded people who understand the pressures of employing staff, making difficult decisions and trying to balance work with life.
