Job Description:
As the Regulatory and Compliance officer, you will be responsible for ensuring all clients products are legally compliant within the market they are sold
To enable us to continue to keep our products legally compliant we require a commercial-minded Regulatory and Compliance Officer who understands the integrating elements of business, how they are connected and the importance of your role within them. With a background in Health and Beauty, you will be results-driven and customer-focused using your initiative and problem-solving abilities to create a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for controlling all technical documentation activities
- Compilation and maintenance of PIF files
- Notification of new products within the EU (CPNP) and registration of products into export markets and SCNP in UK
- Fulfil regulatory aspects of claim substantiation and manage all claims testing
- Ensure all new products comply with relevant regulations and align with internal policies for each market
Support Sales with registration documentation, technical queries and data support
- Check artwork complies: including formulations; certification markings; product claims; product warnings, and usage and other relevant information
- Review Product packaging and artwork to ensure it meets all relevant regulatory requirements
- Build strong relationships with certification authorities and other relevant bodies
- Provide regulatory support in risk assessments for new products as well as with the replacement of current raw materials
- Support and advice on pack copy for artwork or website, and other platforms in which our products are marketed
Keep abreast of new regulations & ensure formulations remain compliant within regions of sale
- Keep abreast of new regulations & share updates with R&D to align with new developments
- Manage the impact of changes in regulation on the business and communicate to relevant stakeholders
- Manage certification renewals (Cosmos, Soil Association, Vegan, Cruelty-Free)
- Generate analysis and review Safety Data Sheets
- Review product Test Reports, e.g. Stability, challenge test reports, SDSs, safety assessments etc.
- Liaise with suppliers and other members of the team to ensure suppliers are fully briefed with our requirements
- Knowledge of markets outside the UK or the ability to obtain the requirements from the regional authorities. Working with agencies if need be.

Skills:
- Good understanding of cosmetic science and preferably other sectors
- Good understanding of NPD processes
- Ability to take responsibility and be accountable
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal departments as well as external certification authorities
- Good communication skills with the tenacity and patience to work across teams to resolve issues and drive for results
