Lazy eye habits Jo cannot cope with 👀😂

It’s your favourite optometrist back with her list of “tiny habits that seem harmless… until they cost you actual money and your will to live later on.”

• Not removing eye make‑up properly — leftover mascara and liner can block glands, irritate lids, and cause infections. Your lashes deserve better.

• Keeping the same contact lens case for months — cases build up biofilm (yep, it’s as grim as it sounds). Fresh case = fewer bugs.

• Skipping routine eye exams because “my vision seems fine” — many conditions show no symptoms early on. Prevention is cheaper than treatment.

• Not wearing sunglasses in bright weather — UV damage is cumulative and can increase risks of cataracts and other long‑term issues.

Jo’s verdict: “Small habits now protect your eyes later — and keep your future self from sending you the bill.”

Our long‑term legend Ali packed half her wardrobe of JMI glasses for her weekend trip — because why take one pair when you can take several? 👓💁‍♀️
