If you have diabetes, taking care of your feet is one of the most important things you can do for your health.

Diabetes can affect circulation and reduce sensation in your feet, meaning small cuts, blisters or injuries may go unnoticed and can take longer to heal. Regular foot care and early intervention can help prevent serious complications.

✅ Top Foot Health Tips for People with Diabetes:

👣 Check your feet every day for cuts, blisters, redness, swelling or changes in colour.

🧼 Wash and dry your feet thoroughly, paying particular attention between the toes.

🧴 Moisturise dry skin to help prevent cracking (but avoid applying cream between the toes).

🧦 Wear well-fitting footwear and clean, comfortable socks to reduce rubbing and pressure points.

✂️ Take care when trimming your nails. If you struggle to reach your feet or have poor eyesight, seek professional help.

🔥 Avoid hot water bottles, heated blankets or placing feet too close to radiators, as reduced sensation can increase the risk of burns.

🚭 If you smoke, consider seeking support to stop, as smoking can further reduce circulation.

📞 Don’t ignore any wounds, ulcers, swelling, redness or signs of infection – seek advice promptly.

Improve Toe Mobility: A 6-Step Guide!

We are DELIGHTED to hear that this post alone has helped so many of you, for that reason it’s being shared again (& again)! Dedicated just 5 mins per foot each day, you’ll feel relief after performing these moves 😊

Struggling with stiff, immobile toes?
Discover a practical and effective 6-step guide designed to boost your toe mobility, providing you with a path towards improved flexibility and strength. 💪

Step 1: Hold your foot with one hand and pull your toes away from the toe joints, repeat this for all toes.

Step 2: Bend your lesser toes and big toe in opposite directions, as far as you can, making sure your lesser toes are flattened for full lengthening of the extensors.

Step 3: Stabilise your foot and with your other hand, pull your big toe away from your 2nd toe.

Step 4: Pull out your big toe and gently rotate the toe to decompress the joint.

Step 5-6: Get as many fingers you a between your toes, starting with the 1st and 2nd toe, then gently move your toes in a circular motion.

Incorporate this structured routine into your daily schedule, dedicating both morning and evening sessions to this essential practice.

NEW CLIENT STORY 👣

This gentleman came to see Chelsey with a long-standing painful corn that he had been treating himself with medicated corn rings/plasters. Unfortunately, the acid inside these products had started to destroy the healthy surrounding skin, leaving the area badly macerated and irritated. 🤦🏻‍♀️

After careful treatment today, he walked away pain free 🙌
However, due to the chemical burn caused by the corn plaster, we’ll be reviewing him again next week to allow the damaged skin to dry out and recover properly.

We also discussed:
✔️ Regular routine treatment
✔️ Pressure management
✔️ Orthotics to reduce friction and recurrence
✔️ Avoiding medicated corn plasters in future

Corns are usually a symptom of pressure and friction — simply burning the skin rarely fixes the underlying cause.

Please don’t try to “DIY” painful corns with acid treatments. They can often create far more problems than the original corn itself.

How strong are your feet?

A house relies heavily on the workmanship & conditions of its foundations (the part underneath the building), during this process if corners are cut, the house will need constant maintenance. The life of the house is cut short if the foundation is weak.

Similarly to the house analogy, our bodies rely on our feet. We believe that our feet act just like the foundation to a building, poor foot function will travel up the body & instead of cracks appearing we will see aches & pains, poor movement patterns & more.

Simply put, our feet carry us throughout the day & are key to longevity & performance.
