⛑️ Outdoor First Aid — 3 spaces left!

Our 2-day Outdoor First Aid course (14–15 September, Pinewood Trust) is filling up nicely — we've got 4 booked and just need 3 more to get it running.

Perfect if you work or volunteer outdoors: forest schools, scouts/guides leaders, dog walkers, groundskeepers, outdoor educators, or anyone who wants first aid skills for when help is further away than usual.

Today our explorers from Compass Academy - Hull rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into dissecting Barn Owl pellets!!

We uncovered tiny rodent skulls, jaws, leg bones, what we think may have been a couple of finch skulls, oh and a mouse tail!! 🐁🐦💀

Tge gross and gruseome evoked lots of curisoity about the Barn Owls and there habitat what they eat, this is exactly why we love outdoor learning... curiosity comes naturally when nature is your classroom. ✨️🥰

Working with our wonderful friends at Compass Academy - Hull and following their Native American topic, we spent the mornjng slowing down, connecting with nature, and discovering that some of life's greatest lessons are found outdoors!! 💚
The students made their own talking sticks, explored the traditional use of sage, and took part in a respectful sage ceremony, taking a moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate the world around us.🪶🌿
We have rolled out our yoga mats, partnered up and even did a group yoga session! 💪🥰
We have been using technology to identify different birds calling around the Compass Academy site. 🐦🌳
To finish, we became woodland apothecaries, blending our own room sprays with essential oils while learning about the amazing properties and traditional uses of different plants. There was plenty of sniffing, mixing, laughter, and a few sneezes! 🌸🌱 ✨

We explored our surroundings, looking at the world around us under the digital microscope 🔬worked together to problem solve, tying knots as put up our hammocks and plucked up courage to try the rope swing! 🥰🍄

We climbed, we crept, we crawled, exploring the beautiful woodlands and all its magick ✨️ The amazing N2 of Compass Academy - Hull tuned into inquisitivity as we navigated our way through the mossy woods, stopping to explore our curiousty , finding 'dead mans fingers', 'candle tuft fungus' mossy ecosystems and of course we had to make ourselves sticky Cleavers crowns 👑🌳🕷🦋

Its fair to say, not everyone wanted to join in the partner/team yoga...but when we did...the laughter started, pushing through barriers, letting go of fear! Fun times 🥰🏆👌🌸

A lovely afternoon with three groups from Whitehouse PRU. Working together, investigating nature, snacking on juicy oranges and making the skins into tasty treats for our wild birds. 🐦🐦‍⬛🐦👌🙏
