Eligible for a MenB vaccination but haven't had it yet?

We're running a series of MenB drop-in clinics across the Borders to help eligible young people access their vaccination.

You may be eligible if:

• You were born between 1 March 2008 and 28 February 2009
• You were in S6 during the 2025/26 school year
• You are under 25 and entering first year at university in 2026/27
• You are under 25 and entering first year at college while living in shared accommodation

Letters have only been sent to those born between 1 March 2008 and 28 February 2009. If you're eligible through any of the other groups listed above, please either come along to one of our drop-in clinics or contact the Vaccination Service on 01896 809250 to arrange an appointment.

MenB can cause serious illnesses including meningitis and septicaemia. Two doses, given at least four weeks apart, are needed for full protection.

We're encouraging young people in the Borders to check if they’re eligible for the MenB vaccine.

You can get the MenB vaccine if you:

• were born 1 March 2008 – 28 February 2009
• were in S6 in 2025/26
• are under 25 and starting university in 2026/27
• are under 25, starting college and living in shared accommodation

If you were born between 1 March 2008 and 28 February 2009, please look out for a letter arriving this week with details on how to book your appointment.

The practice will be closed from 12.30pm-6pm for GP and staff training.

If you require a doctor urgently and your issue cannot wait until we reopen on the 14 May, please call your usual GP number.
