The Master of masters is very clear, unless you become like a child in your practice, in your worship, on your path you will not enter the Kingdom Within, the Mandala of ecstasy.
Beware of your inner adolescent. This is the one too cool to pray, too worried about others opinions to show emotion, too cynical to celebrate. The adolescent is often what we are relating to when we now say the traumatised one. The adolescent is tortured by self consciousness. It needs lots of hugs, support and a mature presence in its life to help it heal.
The traumatised one protects itself in a prison of self reliance, pseudo independency, and systems.
The traumatised one puts on a mask when dealing with others and calls it wisdom. It is terrified to be vulnerable for further fear of humiliation.
To be childlike is a profoundly radical statement of Jesus. To be innocent, open, vulnerable, freely giving, not opinionated, no super cool analysis of the world situation, simple, curious, no holding back of self expression, asking any question, not looking down on anyone but naturally sharing.
This is the highest religion.
Many people are stuck in their trauma and stagnate as an inner adolescent. They need therapy to break free and become mature, to find, as Bill Hicks says ‘their inner adult’. Traditionally religions provide this therapy in wise study and development of the self. Jesus’s and Buddhas teachings are the foundation stones of where, what we call therapy, comes from.
When we become an adult we can start to practice the path and enter into the way of Christ: to love others as the Self. When this matures and we know our interconnection with Reality we can then enter into the Great Connection: Dynamic Unity. We enter Dynamic Unity by being childlike.
A simple practice that needs no analysis but will reveal how much of the traumatised adolescent is still dominating our subconscious is the following.
At least 10 times a day say out loud ‘Praise be to God.’ Observe if you are too cool to say it. Observe how uncomfortable it may make your traumatised adolescent. Observe if are so enmeshed in the pain of the inner adolescents incessant narcissistic dialogue and fear of the world that you can’t find 10 moments to praise Life.
Reflect on this at the end of the day. During the day do not analyse the practice simply do it like a child. ‘Praise be to God’
If it’s too much to say it out loud, the ego is too burned by it, then say it internally.
Follow the Way of the saints and use this innocent phrase and practice to start seeing what is true, what is good, what is beautiful, what is lovely, what is real and what is pure in your day to day life.
If and when a feeling of joy or gratitude arises in your heart, know well, this is the path. This is the Way of Christ arising in your perception.
Simply see with eyes of a child, the true, the good and the beautiful and say ‘Praise be to God.’ and see if it has an effect or not?
May the grace of the Christ bless you.
