🌿 The word 'Thallo' originates from an ancient Greek verb meaning to bloom, grow, or flourish.

When we care for a plant, we don’t force it to grow faster.

We simply change its environment.

We give it better light, fresh water, and room for its roots to expand.

Online therapy gives you that same intentional space to change your environment, process heavy things, and finally focus on your own well-being—straight from your own home.✨

📦 Society and sometimes family, love to give us boxes.

Boxes for how we should act, how we should process our feelings, what our timelines should look like, and who we are "supposed" to be.

Often, we spend years shrinking ourselves down just to fit neatly into those shapes. We build habits, masks, and defense mechanisms just to keep the peace or feel safe.

But those boxes were built for us, not by us. Eventually, they start to feel far too small.

Stepping out of them means you are outgrowing spaces that were never meant to hold your whole, authentic self.

It is a slow, quiet process of unpacking who you were taught to be, so you can discover who you actually are.

🌱I dived into this exact topic in one of my blog posts, exploring why we try so hard to squeeze into society's expectations—and how therapy can help us safely step out.

A little hello from the person behind the screen 👋🌿

When you look for an online therapist, it can feel daunting to connect with a face on a website. So, I wanted to share a little bit about who I am and how I work.

I’m Nicki, and I run a fully online therapy practice designed to give you a safe, private space to talk, from the comfort of your own home.

As you can tell from this photo, outside of my therapist chair, I am a huge animal lover and completely devoted to my dog, Rex 🐾. You’ll definitely see him pop up in my future posts quite a bit!

If I am not working, you will usually find us out on a long walk in nature, enjoying the fresh air, or me curled up at home with a good book and a warm drink.

Why does this matter for our sessions?

Because therapy with me isn’t about rigid rules or cold clinical advice. I believe in treating people as whole human beings.

Spending time in nature and with animals keeps me grounded, patient, and deeply compassionate.

I bring that same warmth and non-judgmental care into our virtual therapy room.

Whether you are dealing with stress, feeling stuck, or navigating a big life change, we will work through it together at your pace.

✨When you are ready, drop me a message or click the link in my bio to book a free, no-obligation introductory chat.

🌿When we face overwhelming stress, our nervous system builds intelligent survival strategies to protect us.

These automatic states often become our default defense mechanisms:

💥 Fight: Pushing threat away through control or anger.

✈️ Flight: Escaping discomfort through over-busyness or avoiding.

🛑 Freeze: Shutting down, feeling stuck, numb, or overwhelmed.

🌱 Fawn: Over-accommodating others to maintain peace and safety.

These are not character flaws. They are your body's wise, protective adaptations.

True healing isn't about forcing these defenses away. It is about building a steady, compassionate therapeutic relationship where your nervous system can gently learn that it is safe to rest and grow.

💬 Which response does your body tend to default to when overwhelmed?

🌊✨Just like the water reflects the world around it, our minds often reflect our environments.

Therapy offers a calm space to let the ripples settle so you can see yourself clearly.

What is your reflection telling you today?

🌿✨Emotional overwhelm isn’t a personal failure — it’s your nervous system asking for gentleness.

If everything feels “too much” right now, these steps can help you soften the load and find your footing again.

You’re not alone in this.

🌿🤍Resilience isn’t about being strong all the time but about learning to stay connected to yourself when things feel difficult.

Often it looks like pausing, noticing what hurts, taking one steady step, or letting support in.

Small moments like these help your nervous system settle and remind you that you don’t have to move through hard things alone.

🌿Anxiety doesn’t always look like overwhelm.

Sometimes it shows up quietly, through tension, restlessness, difficulty settling, a sense of being “on alert” even in calm moments.

Like this peaceful scene, our bodies can hold both activation and ease at the same time.

Therapy helps you notice these early cues with compassion, so you can respond rather than react.

You’re allowed to slow down. You’re allowed to find pockets of steadiness.
