Creating meaningful resources is central to my professional practice, and I’m proud of the work I produce. During COVID—when the health service was under immense pressure and we were seeing a rapid rise in eating disorders and restrictive eating—my colleagues and I developed a tool to help parents and individuals quickly self-assess whether the limited food range was indicative of nutritional concern, if the range of foods was so limited that the individual was at risk of nutritional deficiency leading to health and well-being implications.

The project was born out of urgent need, and despite the intense pressures of the time, my wonderful colleagues and I carved out the space to collaborate—true teamwork!

It's incredibly exciting to see a seed you helped plant grow into a resource that becomes reviewed and endorsed by your professional body.

Sometimes someone's eating difficulties dont quite fit the recognised diagnostic criteria and subsequently they are told they dont have an ED. This can be incredibly frustrating for those seeking help.

OSFED - otherwise specified feeding or eating disorder - can offer validation and understanding that whilst other diagnostic criterias dont fit, the eating difficulty is still valid 💕 and support is still available 😊

Good afternoon all, I've made a slight change to my opening hours over the summer and I will now be doing sessions on a Tuesday morning.

This is to allow more opportunity for people to have sessions, especially with Freddie whilst still limiting him to one session each day.

Any regulars please get in early and book sessions to avoid disappointment - for anyone new looking for activities or enrichment sessions over the summer holidays please get in touch to find out more about equine assisted services.

The sessions can be tailored to your needs, whether your looking to work on something specific or just looking for an hour of calm and relaxation in the outdoors away from screens or if your looking to maintain some structure to your week during the extended school holidays, these sessions can be great!

Its HOT HOT HOT 🔥

I think most people know the importance of drinking more fluids during the hot weather. But how much extra do we need?

This will be very individualised, depending on how much each person's is sweating, their size and what they are doing in the hot weather i.e staying indoors, gardening etc. Generally the NHS advises 6- 9 cups per day in total for women and 10 for men - but some of us may require more than this!

Monitoring the colour of your urine is a useful indicator of your hydration status, as well as listening to your body.Dont leave it until you are feeling thirsty as this is often one the later signals that you need to hydrate.

Here's a few tips for staying hydrated;

-Carry a water bottle with you and take small sips throughout the day.

-Vary your fluid intake to keep you interested, add ice, drink through a straw or make smoothies or natural squash.

'-Minimise fluids which contain alcohol and caffeine as these are diuretics meaning they also encourage you to go to the toilet, so getting rid of fluid..

-Snack of fluid rich foods like cucumber, watermelon and yogurt.

-Ice lollies and ice creams are great too, try slightly freezing grapes for an hour or so as a handy and cool cold snack.

Controversial lunch incoming…

I always get that look when I suggest my peanut butter, grated carrot and salad sandwich combo — but honestly, don’t knock it until you try it.

The sweet crunch with the creamy peanut butter just works. It’s a great meat‑free option, high in fibre and roughly 15g of protein. If you want to boost that even further, add a boiled egg 🥚 for an extra hit.Give it a go and tell me you’re not pleasantly surprised 😆
