We're Recruiting an Adventure Companion!

Adele and Elizabeth are pictured here enjoying a day out in Pooley Bridge as part of our Adventure Companions service.

For many people, having a little support can make all the difference when it comes to getting out, visiting favourite places and enjoying new experiences. That's exactly what our Adventure Companions help make possible.

We're currently looking for someone to join the team (part-time) and help create more moments like these.

We know that when we are supporting someone at home, or people are receiving care themselves, it’s often the small, familiar times that stand out the most.

Maybe it’s:

☕ A relaxed morning with a favourite drink and the radio on.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A visit from family or friends.

🌳 A walk in the fresh air or sitting in the garden.

📚 Some quiet time to read, listen to music, or look through old photos.

✨ Even just the moment you know the week’s worries start to fade.

💚 Community Connect – Week 2 💚

This week for Community Connect, Zoe has been spending time phoning different clients for a friendly chat — and she has absolutely loved getting to know everyone 😊📞

Sometimes a simple phone call can make such a big difference to someone’s day, and Zoe has already made some real connections with the people she has spoken to. From sharing stories and laughs to simply checking in and having a good catch up, the conversations have been so meaningful 💚

Community Connect is all about helping people feel connected, valued, and less alone, and it has been lovely to see the positive impact these calls are already having.

Well done Zoe for bringing such warmth and kindness to every conversation ✨

✅ Top Tips to Stay Cool

💧 Drink water often – don’t wait till thirsty

🌑 Close curtains/blinds in sunshine

👕 Wear loose, light clothes

🧊 Cool skin with damp flannels or cool showers

🍉 Eat light, cold meals & fruit

🤝 Check on each other regularly
