With trips out, making and delivering May Day baskets for the community, student visit’s, music, movies and craft workshops there’s something for everyone!
All the staff, residents and visitors really do work together to bring out the values we share We Care Group

Our home has been filled with love and laughter over the past few days ❤️
We’ve been taking part in seated exercises with the brilliant Jamie from Gfitness and we’ve been sitting back and enjoying performances from our wonderful friends and little stars at En Pointe Dance Academy. 💃🏼
It’s so wonderful to have staff, families and community enjoying activities too. 🥰
At Swansea Terrace we’re happiest when our residents and families are smiling 😊

Today has been such a special and proud day for us all 🇬🇧

We officially celebrated achieving our Veteran friendly framework quality mark and gaining accreditation as a Veteran Friendly Care Home — a huge milestone for our team.

A big congratulations to our manager Rachael, along with Andrew, Kim and Lyndsay, who were each awarded their certificates after completing their training 👏

We were honoured to be joined by our incredible community veteran champions — Councillor Mel Close, Councillor Gary Kniveton, and Dave Abbot from the Hidden Voices Project at Preston North End Community and Education Trust. Your support means so much to us.

This achievement reflects something we truly believe in — ensuring that residents with a military background are not only supported, but are heard, respected and valued within our care setting.

The whole home came together today — residents, families and guests — creating such a warm, joyful atmosphere. It really was a celebration to remember ✨

We enjoyed delicious food prepared by our chef Collette, beautiful cakes baked by our housekeeper Iwona, and wonderful music from the talented Poppy Holiday 🎶

It’s safe to say everyone had an amazing day… and our residents absolutely had a ball 🥰

Guess where we went? 🇮🇳 🇮🇳 🇮🇳
Yes, our residents, along with their passports boarded the plane and took to the skies to visit India! All within the comfort of their very own armchairs!!!
And wow what a day it was!🫶🏻
Our real life cabin crew member was there to ensure safe flight and perform safety travel demo for us and once we were soaring he offered us a range of drinks and snacks in the air.
On arrival at Deli airport our home manager Rachael was in full sari 🥻 waiting to welcome us to India! 🇮🇳
We enjoyed a travel documentary showing us some beautiful sights, we shared some wonderful cuisine and we watched a full sari demonstration from some of our wonderful staff.
Then the highlight of the day.. Some of our staff performed traditional song and dance for us. It was absolutely spectacular. The beautiful costumes, makeup, body paints and jewellery brightened up the room with an array of colour and talent.
Residents, staff and families were joined together to enjoy a truly heartwarming immersive experience before heading back through the skies to Swansea Terrace x
Our Activity Coordinator is already planning our next trip and we can’t wait ✈️🫶🏻✈️

We’re incredibly proud to share that Swansea Terrace has achieved Veteran Friendly Framework status. 🩷💚

Becoming a Veteran Friendly care home means recognising, understanding and supporting residents who have served in the Armed Forces and ensuring their experiences are respected and honoured.

One of our residents, Harry, recently visited a local Veterans Café where he met a fellow veteran from the same regiment.

The two spent time reminiscing about their service and shared memories from the places they had served around the world.

Harry described the visit as a wonderful experience and said it felt like being surrounded by friends again.

Across We Care Group, our homes are now working towards achieving a full Veteran Friendly provider profile so that veterans in our care can remain connected to the community and the experiences that shaped their lives.

Well done to the Swansea Terrace team for their commitment to making this possible.
