This week was the first week of the latest Grief Aware courses… it’s not easy facing into grief. It takes a lot of courage to sit at the table (or in front of the screen) and admit, even to yourself, let alone anyone else, just how overwhelming it is and how lost you feel. I hope the courses help and that you know you’re not alone no matter how lonely it seems to be at times.

We were deeply honoured to support the family of Chris Allen, a true local legend, in arranging his funeral at Peterborough Cathedral, which took place this week.

The service was a powerful reflection of the impact he had through his music, teaching and presence in the community, as hundreds gathered to honour his life.

Our thoughts remain with Chris’s family, friends and all who came together to celebrate his life.

It was an honour to have played a small part in such a meaningful farewell.

On contacting Smiths funeral directors, the support I received was above beyond.
Ruth made me feel welcome, and kindly talked me through the whole process of arranging my sons funeral.
It was hard going to see him in the chapel of rest, but he looked like he was in a beautiful sleep. I'm glad I went.
Ruth kept me updated with everything and guided me. I am so grateful to her.
