If you have visited our Hinchingbrooke site recently you will see the progress that has been made with the development of our new staff accommodation block - named Willow House. The accommodation, is being built by Zedpods Ltd and will provide a home-from-home for our student doctors, nurses and on-call staff and replace the old staff accommodation, which is due to be demolished over the next few months to make way for the new hospital development.
Work to install new modular staff accommodation will continue with a crane lift and module installation.
During this phase you may notice the temporary closure of Car Park 2 (Patient and Public Treatment Centre Car Park) during scheduled Saturdays.
Saturday 20 June
Saturday 27 June
Saturday 18 July
Saturday 25 July
Saturday 8 August
There will be clearly marked alternative arrangements in place with patients being redirected to the staff car park located at the front of the hospital site on the Saturdays when traffic to and from the hospital site is reduced. This is to keep the impact to operational needs to a minimum where possible. Patients parking in the staff car park will not be requested to pay while the Treatment Centre Car Park is closed.
There will be an increase in delivery vehicles accessing the site with traffic marshals in place to support safe vehicle movement. Please allow extra time when arriving on site. There will also be short periods of elevated noise during working hours and some weekend activity to reduce weekday disruption.
The Project Team is working closely with clinical and operational teams to minimise disruption, maintain safe access across site and scheduled high-impact works at quieter times and will continue to ensure that emergency and ambulance access will be prioritised throughout.
Thank you for your patience while we deliver our improved staff accommodation.
