Cherry Blossom residents always really enjoy visits from the Hartbeeps children, and the latest visit was all about a trip to the vets. Residents had lots of fun playing the role of veterinarians, helping to look after the children’s soft toy animals and making sure they were feeling better. Everyone was delighted to report that all of the toy pets were given a clean bill of health after their check-ups! The session brought plenty of smiles, laughter and wonderful intergenerational interaction for both the residents and children.

Cherry Blossom residents enjoyed a wonderful performance from Paul Hayward, spending the afternoon singing along to some of their favourite songs. 🎶

The music soon had everyone in great spirits, with several residents getting up to dance alongside members of the Cherry Blossom team. Val especially enjoyed having a dance and there were plenty of smiles and laughter all around. It was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by everyone!

Cherry Blossom residents enjoyed a wonderful morning of baking together, and it was lovely to see everyone helping and encouraging one another throughout the activity. Residents had a fantastic time, but the best part was definitely enjoying the delicious cake afterwards! 🍰

The Allegra household model and recent home refurbishment have made a real difference to residents’ daily lives. The kitchenettes encourage greater independence, allowing residents, with support from the team, to bake and cook their cakes within their own household rather than sending them to the main kitchen to be finished. It’s been fantastic to see the positive impact this has had on confidence, choice, and enjoyment.

Sheila had a wonderful 90th birthday, she got to celebrate with family and the friends that she has made at Cherry Blossom Care Home. At Cherry Blossom the staff and other residents always love to make a birthday extra special and Sheila got to eat the most wonderfully delicious cake too

Residents at Cherry Blossom Care Home had a wonderful time celebrating St George’s Day, made even more special by a visit from their favourite guests — local children. The day was filled with laughter and joy as everyone enjoyed waving their St George’s Day flags together. The residents always cherish these visits, as they bring back fond memories of their own children and grandchildren when they were young.

The Cherry Blossom Taster Evening was a great success. The talented chefs and kitchen team created an impressive range of dishes, giving everyone plenty to enjoy and sample.

Guests were treated to favourites such as butter chicken curry, gammon with Yorkshire puddings, vegetable risotto, and Scottish beef stew. There was also spring parmesan chicken served with tenderstem broccoli and homemade naan bread, along with salmon paired with sweet potatoes and leeks.

The desserts were just as memorable as the mains, featuring limoncello tiramisu, sherry trifle, fudge tart, and chocolate and orange sponge with custard.

A fantastic evening filled with great food and a wonderful atmosphere.

Cherry Blossom residents love welcoming visitors, and yesterday they were especially delighted to meet some very special guests!

Some of the visitors had scales, others had more than two legs, and everyone had an amazing time learning all about them thanks to Zoolab.

Did you know geckos can live to about 70 years?! The gecko who visited was an impressive 16 years old, and even the cockroach was 4 years old!

Not only were the residents fascinated, but many of them were brave enough to hold the animals themselves, making it a truly memorable and enriching experience for all involved.

At Cherry Blossom Care Home everyone loves to celebrate a residents birthday and when they have passed 100 it is extra special, so Nora had an amazing time celebrating her 103rd birthday this week with her granddaughter Adel the weekend receptionist and she particularly enjoyed the Hot Cross Buns!!
