I love before-and-after moments like these because they show the subtle, yet powerful, change that can occur when we focus on the nervous system. These images display the abdomen of my client before and after one of my MLD massage sessions.
Many of us are stuck in a cycle of stress, which can lead to bloating, muscle tightness, and stagnant lymphatic fluid. MLD is designed to help shift your body from the “fight-or-flight” state to a deeply restorative “rest-and-digest” state.
The first approach is to first prioritise complete relaxation. When you can breathe deeply and allow your muscles and abdomen to fully let go, it creates the perfect environment for the lymphatic system to function at its best.
By calming the nervous system first, it allows the MLD techniques to gently and effectively encourage fluid movement, reduce puffiness, and ease bloating.
It’s not just about the drainage; it’s about restoring a sense of lightness and balance from the inside out.
