Some people give up a few hours.
Some give up their whole lives.

Their career.
Their finances.
Their sleep.
Their freedom.
Sometimes even their own health.

And yet they still show up.

This Carers Week, let’s recognise the unseen sacrifices, the quiet resilience, and the people carrying more than most of us will ever know.

💜 Carers don’t just care. They carry.

Ending with a client always brings mixed emotions. 💜

There is often pride in how far they’ve come.
Gratitude for the trust they placed in the therapeutic relationship.
Hope for the journey that lies ahead.

And sometimes there is sadness too.

Not because the work has failed, but because something meaningful is coming to an end.

As counsellors, we have the privilege of sitting alongside people during some of the most vulnerable, painful and transformative moments of their lives. We witness tears, breakthroughs, setbacks, courage, growth and healing.

Then, one day, they no longer need us in the same way.

That is both the beauty and the heartbreak of counselling.

To every client who has allowed us to walk part of their journey with us… thank you. It is a privilege we never take for granted. 🌿

🎈 Today is International Day of Play! 🎈

When did life become so serious?

Somewhere between the deadlines, responsibilities, endless to-do lists and daily pressures, many of us forgot something important…

✨ Play is good for us.

Not just children.
Not just on holiday.
Not just when everything else is done.

Play helps us laugh, connect, recharge, create memories and remember what it feels like to simply enjoy being alive.

So today, give yourself permission to have a little fun:

🌈 Draw with chalk
⚽ Kick a ball around
🎲 Play a game
💃 Dance in the kitchen
🌊 Paddle in the sea
😂 Laugh until your cheeks hurt

Because joy isn’t a luxury.
It’s part of being human.

💜 At Calm Journey, we believe wellbeing isn’t only about working through life’s challenges. It’s also about creating space for happiness, connection and play.

Tell us below… what is your favourite way to play? ⬇️

When you hear the word “carer”, who do you think of?

A paid professional?

A nurse?

A support worker?

Carers are often so much more than that.

They are children, siblings, parents, partners, friends and neighbours.

Some carers are as young as 5 years old.

Some miss school because someone depends on them.

Some give up careers they loved.

Some move house, leave relationships, or put their own dreams on hold.

Some find themselves struggling financially, falling into debt, or worrying about keeping a roof over their heads.

Many experience loneliness and isolation.

Some neglect their own physical and mental health because there simply isn’t enough time, energy or support left for themselves.

Some face criticism, abuse or judgement from the very people they are trying to help.

And yet they continue.

Not because it’s easy.

Not because they chose this path.

But because someone they love needs them.

This Carers Week, let’s recognise the hidden cost of caring and the extraordinary strength it can take just to get through another day.

Not all carers wear uniforms.

Some wear school uniforms.

Some wear business suits they no longer get to use.

Some wear pyjamas because they haven’t had a full night’s sleep in years.

And some carry burdens that nobody else ever sees.

To every carer:

💜 We see you.
💜 We appreciate you.
💜 You deserve support too.

🌈💙💜 June is a month of awareness, acceptance and important conversations.

This month we’re shining a light on:

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Month
👨 Men’s Health Month
😊 National Smile Month
💜 PTSD Awareness Month
🤝 Loneliness Awareness Month

Behind every awareness campaign are real people, real experiences and real stories.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is listen, learn, check in on someone, or remind them they’re not alone.

Together, let’s create a community where people feel seen, heard and supported. 💜

Which of these topics resonates most with you this month? We’d love to hear your thoughts below ⬇️

🌊 8 June | World Oceans Day

The ocean has a way of reminding us that feelings come in waves.

Some arrive gently.
Some crash unexpectedly.
Some feel overwhelming.

Yet no wave lasts forever.

Many of us spend so much energy trying to push difficult emotions away that we forget they often soften when we allow ourselves to acknowledge them.

Today, on World Oceans Day, perhaps take a moment to pause.

Listen to the waves.
Watch the tide.
Take a breath.

And remember:

🌊 You don’t have to fight every feeling.
🌊 You don’t have to carry everything alone.
🌊 Like the tide, difficult moments can shift.

With warmth,

The Calm Journey Team 💙

7 June | National Cancer Survivors Day 💜

Cancer changes more than a diagnosis.

It can change how safe the future feels.
How you see your body.
How you trust your plans.
How you experience relationships, work, family and even everyday moments.

For many survivors, life doesn’t simply return to “normal” afterwards.

Today is a reminder that strength doesn’t always look like fighting.
Sometimes it looks like adapting.
Sometimes it looks like asking for support.
Sometimes it looks like getting through an ordinary day.

At Calm Journey, we recognise that emotional healing deserves just as much care as physical healing.

💜 To everyone whose life has been touched by cancer: we see you.

06/06/2026

Taking accountability can be one of the hardest things we ever do.

Not because we’re bad people.

But because it asks us to look honestly at ourselves.

To acknowledge when we’ve hurt someone.
To recognise the impact of our actions.
To put growth before being right.

Accountability isn’t saying, “I’m the problem.”

It’s saying, “I can see my part in this.”

It creates space for understanding.
It rebuilds trust.
It allows relationships to heal and grow.

And perhaps most importantly, it helps us become the kind of person who learns from their mistakes rather than repeats them.

🌿 Accountability isn’t about blame.
🌿 It’s about awareness.
🌿 It’s about responsibility.
🌿 It’s about growth.

Because real strength isn’t found in defending ourselves at all costs.

Sometimes it’s found in saying,

“I understand how that affected you, and I’m sorry.” ❤️

🌿 National Gardening Exercise Day 🌿

Not all exercise happens in a gym.

Sometimes it’s digging in the soil, planting something new, pulling weeds, watering flowers, or simply spending time outdoors caring for a garden.

Gardening is one of those rare activities that nurtures both body and mind. It gets us moving, encourages us to slow down, and reminds us that growth takes time.

Just like the flowers in these photos, we all have seasons. Times of blooming, times of rest, and times when growth is happening beneath the surface, even if we can’t yet see it.

Today, take a moment to step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you. 🌸

💬 Do you enjoy gardening, or do you simply enjoy spending time amongst nature?
