☀️ Stay Safe in the Sun ☀️

With warmer weather here across Forth Valley, it’s important to enjoy the sunshine safely while protecting your skin.
Too much sun exposure can increase your risk of skin damage and skin cancer.

✅ Top tips for staying sun-safe:
• Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and reapply every 2 hours
• Apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before going outdoors
• Wear a wide-brimmed hat and UV-protective sunglasses 👒😎
• Cover up with light, loose-fitting clothing
• Seek shade, especially between 11am and 3pm when the sun is strongest 🏖️
• Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water throughout the day 💧
• Take extra care with children and babies – their skin is more delicate

🚨 Remember: Sunburn increases your risk of skin cancer. There’s no such thing as a “safe tan.”

🔎 Check your skin regularly for any new or changing moles. If you notice anything unusual, please contact your GP.

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine across Forth Valley! 🌞

Dementia Action Week brings people and organisations together to raise awareness, encourage early diagnosis, and help improve care and treatment for the future.
